So Saylin, I remember telling you we are in further administrating processing because the US Embassy in France will not accept the Police Certificate for face value. (we submitted an original Romania Police Cert. and it simply says after an official translation: No Criminal Record My wife was a doctor and director(manager) at a blood transfusion center where people donate blood. She was instructed to fire some workers that where no longer needed. One of the workers took her to court many times. My Wife ended up not be prosecuted every time! The only criminal proceedings where complaints about the Courts Resolution. It was obvious to the Romanian Court(Judges and Prosecution)that my wife was just doing her job.

So because the embassy wants all the court documents plus any and all related docs for all the criminal proceedings, it ended up costing us over $1700.00 for the English Translation just to confirm her Police Certificate is accurate I guess.

and this is after they told her "congrats you will have your visa in 10 days"

I guess we should of got a quote up front for the translation!

have you ever heard of something like this happening?

I am really upset that the US Embassy ignored her Police Cert. after they heard from the Grape Vine that my wife has a court history. But she has NO convictions! and she has never been arrested, etc....

Hi everyone - I'm hoping to get my case number this week, and need some advice regarding the DS-261 (DS-3032) and I-864. My husband (the USC), finally found an apartment yesterday in NYC and the lease starts on March 22. Since we are doing electronic processing, do you think it's okay to put this new address on the forms since we probably won't get anything in regular mail until green card? Perhaps add an explanatory letter?

Or do you think that would result in a RFE, so we should use the address of his temporary housing/workplace address, then call (email?) and update the address after March 22? (For our I-130, we had all correspondence coming to Canada since we filed from abroad originally).

Appreciate any advice!

Grats! kicking.gif You can send the AOS package now!

I have had butterflies in my stomach all day! While I did get the checklist for the AOS, we also got the IV bill invoiced today.

Paid it, sent the AOS Checklist stuff in an envelope and the IV packet in another envelope. Its on its way, overnighted to New Hampshire!

Nothing else for me to do but wait for case complete (or another checklist, errr).

I can't believe we're finally this close!

Now Im daydreaming.. could we get a case complete in time to get an April interview date? Weeeee!

As long as everything is alright in the IV package and AOS checklist, you could have a case complete by the end of next week, with a possible late April/early May interview, depending on your embassy/consulate.

i know it's a stupid question but i hope somebody can enlighten me :D after i receive my case number from the NVC i should send the Ds3032 by email i saw the template posted on the first page but i still don't get if i am going to be the agent of myself how should i write it. i also read that i have to send a scanned bar code or something like that to get the process faster i really hope anybody can provide me with the correct steps. thanks in advance awaiting your kind replies. :D

The beneficiary can choose whomever they want to be agent, including themselves. Honestly, as long as you give over both email addresses once a case number is assigned, the DS-3032 sort of becomes a moot form as NVC sends all correspondence at that point by email. So, it really doesn't matter who is chosen as agent.

And there are no bar codes needed for the DS-3032. You don't even need to scan the form. Simply follow the email format linked to in the first post.

So Saylin, I remember telling you we are in further administrating processing because the US Embassy in France will not accept the Police Certificate for face value. (we submitted an original Romania Police Cert. and it simply says after an official translation: No Criminal Record My wife was a doctor and director(manager) at a blood transfusion center where people donate blood. .

wow.gif That's expensive...

And remember, the embassies/consulates can request whatever they want. They need to make sure, with 100% certainty, that someone is "clean" before they can allow them a visa to immigrate to the US. They're simply doing their jobs. You shouldn't really be getting upset over it. Just do what they ask, and do it quickly, and this will all be over soon.

Make sure you have a copy of everything you sent to the embassy, as the officers at POE may want to see it as well. They have the ultimate authority of letting your wife in or not.

Our IV Packet was accepted on 2/25. Will NVC send any email acknowledging our case completion? Also, approximately how long does NVC currently take to schedule interviews?

It's rare for non-EP cases to get case complete emails. So don't count on it. You need to call NVC to find out if your case is complete.

As for time frames for interviews, it varies by each and every consulate. Start your own research here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op7=Bangladesh&dfile=No&adv=

If the apartment is absolutely guaranteed, then I would probably suggest using that new address. It really doesn't matter what way you do it (use new address now, or use current address until March 22 then update NVC with new address).

understood and thank for the tip about the POE!

so you know of some cases of people with a US visa that where denied entry to the US for not having the necessary documents to prove a clean record?
