We just got the DS-3032 email, which I know to ignore. My question is, how do I know that the DS-3032 that we already emailed has been accepted? Should I be calling every day to check?

Still waiting on that dang AOS bill :clock:

If you don't get the acceptance email by the end of the week, resend with the supervisor review in the subject line.

Thanks! How long does the NVC process take once you have a case number? I guess I'd thought it was a bit longer and that we wouldn't be done with it until mid-April giving us a June interview. So I'll def hold off booking flights until we have a better idea. Hoping for no checklists. I mentioned in another post though that I've sent my IV package to hubby so he can send it when the time comes. However, the address on my police check doesn't match my current address on the DS-230 (I just moved 2 weeks ago) Will this be a problem/should I get it changed now or will it not matter?

Thanks,

Cat

OH...also, I notice that scanning and emailing the DS-3032 seems to be the faster option. I know they will email me a copy once we give our email address/get a case number. But can I just download one online and fill (as much as poss) of it in now to be prepared?

I'm the same date. Although mine is apparently 'in the system' but we were told that we should get a case number this week! So they're a-coming! Us Feb 11th'ers will hopefully hear something within the next few days!

The time frame once you get a case number is completely dependent upon YOU. If you're fast and send things right away, you could be done by the end of March like I said, with an interview around May.

It might be a good idea to get a new police certificate for the interview, just in case. You can call up NVC to ask and see what they say. Remember, call up a minimum of five times and take the majority answer.

If you want to send a scanned copy, then yes, download the one from the DOS website.

Hi all,

I wasn't sure where to post this without starting a new topic and decided the NVC thread is as good as any. We have received a case complete notice from the NVC :) but we realized that my wife made an error on the DS-230 Part II and are wondering what we can do to fix it.

We just re-read the form in anticipation of the interview and saw that one of the check boxes includes being "arrested" for any offense. Nearly 20 years ago my wife was detained for public drinking, but wasn't charged or convicted and had to make a donation to charity. We're not sure if she was strictly "arrested" and has hasn't disclosed it for previous non-immigrant visas (F-1, H1B etc - this will be her fourth visa not including the VWP), and we're confident police background checks should come out clean (unfortunately she's from a country where they send them straight to the Embassy). However, this whole process has made us super-paranoid and we think we should amend the form and resubmit it at the Embassy before the interview to disclose the event even if it wasn't strictly an arrest.

Is this possible? Will the fact that she didn't (honestly, in her mind) disclose it on previous visa applications count against her? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would suggest filling up a new DS-230 and bringing it to the interview. Just have her explain that she wasn't sure about that question, so she initially had said no, but brought a new form to the interview just in case. They'll tell her if they need it or not.

And in this situation, no, I wouldn't expect it to hurt her, especially since she's going to step up now.

Thanks Papiakumi!!!!

Glad I was of some help!

Hi everyone,

I again got a bit confused about this. As is my usual routine, I called NVC and spoke to a nice lady who said the case is in the building and it is being entered into the computer but she then said that they will contact the agent in a 2 to 4 weeks. Since my agent for I-130 is my lawyer and since I am not longer going to use him I got worried.

So just to confirm. As soon as they give us the case number, I give them my email addresses, ask them to send me the DS-3032 by email and also ask them to change my lawyer? All at the same time?

I would suggest calling up NVC and seeing if you can remove the lawyer now, before a case number is assigned. Not sure if it's possible, but worth a shot. If not, then request it once your case number is assigned.

Hi Saylin & everybody!

Just wanna know how long will it takes from the time the NVC receives the DS3032 'til the IV invoice?

My DS3032 was accepted last Feb. 21 but I haven't got the invoice yet... :crying: :crying: My patience is draining.. :crying: :crying: :crying:

It should be any day now!

False checklist? Should I respond, please help. :help:

I just got a NVC checklist cover letter from NVCInquiry@state.gov, asking me to submit IV application part I. I have submitted that yesterday to NVCElectronic@state.gov. Should I respond to NVCInquiry@state.gov? If I should, should I send again my DS-230 to NVCInquiry@state.gov or NVCElectronic@state.gov

Anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate that!

Sounds like a false checklist to me! Which means your AOS was accepted!! Call up NVC pronto to confirm! :)

Just got off the phone with NVC and our AOS has been accepted!!!! Spoke to Jim, who was SUPER nice and he totally made my day! Now, just to get the IV invoice and maybe, just maybe, we can get that IV application off tomorrow! Celebratory happy dance? Yes, I think so!!!

Grats! kicking.gif

They'll reply to your DS-3032 email with acceptance. And the ultimate way of knowing it was accepted is by the invoicing of the IV bill.

Hi all,

I got a checklist for the I-864A filed by my sponsor...After entering what the NVC wanted from the sponsor, do i have to re-submit my sponsor's IRS tax transcripts & their paystubs (which i have submitted earlier), or are they talking about just fixing some errors on the form? Sorry, i got confused while reading the checklist and wasn't quite sure what i should do. My sponsors are both my parents. Initially, I only submitted a I-864A from my dad, looks like they want me to submit an I-864A from my mom also. They file their taxes together & has a joint bank account, so can i just copy what is on my dad's sheet onto my mom's??? do i also have to re-submit my I-864??? Any help on this would be really appreciated.

As long as the only thing wrong is the I-864A form, then no, you don't need to resubmit everything else. Just send in what they request, not the entire package again.

Hi Saylin,

Last week NVC sent a checklist asking us to resubmit a corrected I-864 and we responded to the same yesterday and the corrected I-864 will be delivered to NVC tomorrow. Today we received a checklist and the content is as follows:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: Beneficiary

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still

waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return

the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.

Does this mean that they have completed the review of IV packet and they are waiting for corrected I-864, so that once they receive that they can review and complete the case.

Please clarify. This wait is really killing.

This is a standard response indicating that they've received your IV packet. The same person won't look at the AOS packet and the IV packet. So one hand doesn't know what the other is doing so-to-speak. Even if your AOS packet didn't need an addition made to it, you would still receive a notice similar to this. It all depends on the timing. The person dealing with the IV packet probably sees the AOS as pending and simply generates this auto-response. I received a similar one (not including the checklist letter bit) it for each of our 3 cases and also vice versa saying that the AOS had been received and they were waiting on the IV. The AOS update probably hasn't been looked at since you only just sent it in. I would call tomorrow for an update to see if it has at least been received. They will look at it shortly I'm sure.

wow.gif Even K1s still have to go through NVC. No petitions as far as I know get sent directly to the consulate/embassy. Someone really fubbed up at USCIS.

Right now, you're probably going to want to contact DOS (number in first post) to see when the file arrives at New Delhi. Once it's been received, contact New Delhi. Ask them to keep your file and you'll bring the AOS and IV package with you, along with the fees, to the interview. Ask for an interview to be assigned asap. Get the packages ready NOW, so when you call, you can tell them you have EVERYTHING ready for an interview the next week, if possible. This might end up being a stroke of luck as you may be able to bypass NVC altogether.

Oh..k.thanks Saylin :)

Can u pls clear this doubt of mine also:

Initially, I only submitted a I-864A from my dad, on the looks like they want(are asking) me to submit an I-864A from my mom also. They file their taxes together & has a joint bank account, so can i just copy what is on my dad's I-864A (Federal Tax Income info & the assets section) onto my mom's???

As long as the information is applicable. Like, she has to put her own information. Her name's not the same as her husband after all ;)

Saylin, in the checklist email, it says

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant

visa.

Does it mean they have reviewed my AOS? Thanks! :)

Can you post the checklist? It's getting hard now to assume things without actually reading it.

To me, it looks like a false checklist, after them reviewing (and accepting) your IV package. Call up asap and ask about the status of your IV package. I bet it's excellent news ;)
