I carry my green card on me at all times. It has its own spot in my wallet :)

I believe somewhere in the welcome letter or some other government place it states that you need to have the green card on you at all times. Although I've heard people would just keep a photocopy of the green card on them and keep the green card in a safe. But, if you ever get stopped and don't have your green card on you, it may lead to issues. So, it's ultimately up to you.

Rather then a photo copy just take a picture of it with your phone and give it to anyone requesting it. I do that for my passport during any international travel just in case.

It actually took me by surprise, I didn't know the consulate would close it after it survived the NVC. There isn't much I can do anyways. I just wish they had sent my I-130 to NVC on time now that they closed my K3

I know you are disappointed but now as soon as you get here you can use that money you would have spent on AOS and take a really nice delayed honeymoon :D :D Hang in there things happen for a reason and you might not see it now but you will :D I have been married for over 2.5 years so I really feel your pain but in the end true love prevails

Thanks for the positive comment. I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard. I hope the NVC process goes fast, I guess having a lawyer will come in handy at this stage since they will invoice both bills together so as soon as we pay them which is when they invoice it they will send off both packages. I'm really really hoping it doesn't take more than 4 weeks.

I need for my mom to co sponsor my hubby and we have sent 3 times for her transcripts but they keep denying them. I know we have filled out the forms correctly. If we were to use her tax forms and W-2's do you think I would have any issues? This is getting frustrating cause we have been trying since October :bonk:

Did she move since she filed her last year's taxes? If she has, she has to fill out a form and send it with her request for transcripts.

LOL the box weighed 20 lbs and cost $156 to ship from Houston to NVC priority FedEx.

The photobooks was going to be at interview but as each month went by my evidence grew and so did my patience.

The photobooks aren't even of us. I made a book called "Missing you" everything my husband has miSsed these 3 years apart. Got the idea when I was reading a letter from my dad to my mom when he was in Vietnam over a year and that's what she did.

I wanted to show some humanness show the CO this is what we miss being apart the birthdays, new people first day on job, new car.

The other is my husbands artwork all neatly crafted and diplayed in the book. Wanted to show this just isn't some average Nigerian guy. Trying to tug at their hearts.

I just want case complete an a interview cuz this evidence is piling up. My husband will need a airlift to take this stuff in. And watch them not ask for a thing. I can't imagine them asking for anything at all.

Especially by the time of interview I will have been there a few months visiting. More pics. Hehe ;)

I need a fainting smilie... And that picture was perfect. Its exactly how I imagine the NVC person's face. I hope someone in NVC is appreciating all your hardwork.

I decided also, to really make our case-- throw a few pages in of screenshots from the video game we met in, and some pages of screenshots from skype video and even took some screen shots from the guild forum (yeah yeah peeps-- I know we're nerds). I don't have much to record our early friendship since it was all in a digital world.

The more I can do and the less hubby has to organize the better. :bonk: He doesn't spend nearly enough time on VJ!

Here's to one day closer...

Thanks hami.

I also have a question...I've asked this before but don't think anybody answered it, I think I already know the answer to it but I'm going to double check again....form DS-261 only applies to ppl that don't have an attorney correct? so I don't have to worry about filling it out? my lawyer is assigned as my agent right? where do you find the DS-261 anyways? when you sign on to the payment portal? when I sign on it only shows our AOS bill as "NOT INVOICED" and the IV bill doesn't say much, why is that? when is the IV going to show up? inoviced or not invoiced it doesn't say anything right now

Yes, the DS-3032/DS-261 form is only for those that don't have attorneys/lawyers. With your I-130 package, your lawyer/attorney sent a G-28 form which designates them as agent for your entire case. So, in your case, you don't need to send that form. Both bills will be invoiced at the same time. If you did need to fill it out, it's not found on the payment portal. It's on the online forms portal. The link is on the first post. Find it as that's where you need to fill out the DS-260.

And no, I haven't contacted the Senator. The thing is that my wife suffers from severe anxiety, and getting involved in a simple phone call like that can give her panic attacks. It doesn't make any sense to most people I know. That's just the way anxiety works. Sometimes she'll get panic attacks for no reason whatsoever, but a little bit of stress like that can freak her out. So I decided a while ago not to push her into something like that. I assume they won't talk to the beneficiary. But I don't know if that's the case.

Why not just write a letter? If I go to my senator's website (Kelly Ayotte, New Hampshire), there's an electronic inquiry form. I filled that out, then they mailed me a "release of private info" form within a few days. Once I mailed this form back to the senator's office, they mailed me back within a week with a letter saying that they're investigating our case with USCIS and making a congressional inquiry. I didn't hear back from the senator's office until about 2 weeks after I got my NOA2, where they sent a letter saying something like "We understand that you got your case completed with USCIS. Congratulations".

Whether or not the senator's inquiry actually helped my case or not, who knows? I think it was just my turn up at bat.

Hi there,

Just a quick update on our case.

I (beneficiary) emailed the choice of agent ds3032 almost 2 weeks ago (I used my email address and I'm still wondering if it's right because they only send emails to my husband (USC), so his email in on file, not mine ...).

No reply yet, I'm wondering if I should re-send it, this time with the document signed and attached, and maybe send it from my husband's email, what do you think?

AOS is paid but we haven't send it yet because we're still waiting for some documents. Hopefully everything will go fast once we have eveything ready and we'll make up for those days...

Is it right that, once ds3032 is accepted, then you can paid for part IV?

If you gave both your email addresses when you called for your case number, you should be fine. Even so, maybe call NVC before sending it again, just to make sure.

And yeah, as soon as you get the acceptance email your IV bill should be invoiced so you can pay! Lots of luck!
