My husband got the call on Ja.9th to have another TB test done and send the results with his passport. The embassy congratulated him and said to send both things by DHL to the US Embassy in Cairo. On the 14th we sent both as instructed. I wrote the consular section to ask how long this would take. Today they replied that they are processing it and they cant give me a time and they will contact as soon as they complete it. How many dam processes do you have to go thru? I thought once they gave u the green light to send in ur passport, it would just be days but now I am wondering cos the embassy says another process. Does anyone have an idea how long this process can take. My husband wants out of Egypt and home with me at last. Please help me understand what is happening now!

Hard to say... my husband waited almost three weeks from the time the embassy received his passport. When he called UPS to see if it was ready for pick up (every day for weeks) - he was told they all come in one big bunch a couple times a month. I don't know if it is the same in Egypt, but I am sure it is just a matter of a little more time. Look at it this way, the worst is over and you will have him home before you know it!!! Congratulations :star:

But also realize they have been closed alot due to safety security reasons.

Good point. I just read in the news about an hour ago they were closed again Monday of this week for that very reason.
