*Please respond only if you've called, spoken to an ISO, and they've told you that you are still at NBC and not a field office*

I'm wondering if we are just sitting in special land, but it seems that others who were adjudicated at NBC have been approved long before us and everyone else has been sent out to field offices.

I've called now several times and the ISOs seem to think that I am for sure staying at NBC (one even swore he was on the phone with them), but am I the only one? It'll be 3 months next week that we've been at NBC.

you applied in november i did in september so dont worry yet, do remember the 5 months normal processing time you still could have 2 months to go.

i am also still at NBC a tier 2 confirmed this with me.

I have a special case, so I am worried and our case is taking twice as long as other file from abroads. ;)

It says in your timeline that you were transferred to a local office in November, is that wrong?

Hmmmm. That is certainly weird!

Did you ever call back and get confirmation of it?

Yeah, the CSR will just read the transcript of whatever is your online case status. They don't really know if you've been transferred.

So far I am taking being stuck at NBC is a weird thing.

Don't assume that. The transfers are taking place for workload transfer reasons, not because the service centers are no longer processing ANY of them. I read it as some cases are being worked on at the service center when resources are available. Remember the workload transfer to the field offices is intended to be a temporary measure and some cases may be reserved for training or just worked on in-house as they add resources in preparation to begin processing their own cases again early in 2013.

LATEST STEPS:

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

Maybe, I'm starting to think they've misplaced it or something.

I just thought I'd add:

I got my paper NOA2 today, and it was indeed processed at the NBC. There are no kids involved and I'm not filing from abroad (I'm in MD), so I'm not sure why mine would have gone through faster than other people.

I have three running theories:

  • We've been married for 7 years now... perhaps that in itself was enough to convince them it wasn't fraud, and they tossed it in the "approved" pile as soon as they looked at it.
  • I had an extensive FBI background check done about 2 years ago for my job. Perhaps this made the whole background check part faster.
  • Gentlemen prefer blondes. They were stunned into submission by my radiant locks.

I have this vague guilt about getting through before the people waiting longer... only a little though

I think most people's approval notices are coming from NBC even if they were approved at a field office...
