Hey! My fiance just had his interview there this past Thursday. He received his visa in Torreon, Coahuila yesterday, so it was really fast! There are a lot of helpful reviews in the reviews section. I'll have him add his, too. If you have specific questions, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer them. Just let me know! :)

So then you don't need to wait for the visa to arrive in Juarez anymore? My fiance was telling me this.We live in Tijuana and she was saying it can just be sent to a DHL here now instead.I was just curious if this was correct.I would love to see your review we just got approved 3 weeks ago and recieved our letter saying we have a case number in juarez yesterday. They said they would mail the paquet to my fiance soon whatever that means/we both live togeather here in Mexico but I was using my Mothers address where I work and from in San Diego,California also and thats were our approval letter and the other one naming our consulet arrived.

That's correct, you may choose from any of the DHLs listed on the website when you schedule the interview.

'Mailing the packet' means you will soon get the letter needed to schedule her appointments and interview, which she will have to take with to them.

Here is how it works for Juarez:

You need to get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC before you can fill out the DS-260 by calling 603-334-0700

Juarez will send the USC and the beneficiary in Mexico a letter. Sometimes the letter does not reach the person in Mexico because of the crappy mail system there. If the only one that receives it is the USC, it can be mailed or scanned and emailed and printed out by the beneficiary in Mexico. It does not have to be the original.

The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You should go to the links(which I am posting below) listed in the letter. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-260.

Here are the forms: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html , instructions (very important to follow and they explain a lot): http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/packetk1may.pdf ,schedule ASC: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com , and CDJ info: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

While waiting, you can read through the reviews to see how the procedure works and what documents were needed by others applying for a K-1: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Mexico&cty=&dfilter=5

It can take weeks for you to get the letter from CDJ. The good news is, you do not have to wait for the letter to get started. You only need the letter for the medical and appointments in Juarez. If you get everything filled out and scheduled and your letter from CDJ still doesn't arrive before you need to go to Juarez, then you can go early the first morning you are there and get the letter from the consulate customer service information window.

Sorry, it's been a busy weekend. I'll try to have my fiance's consulate review up by tomorrow evening. After reading a really helpful post by Jay-Kay, we didn't wait for the letter to schedule the interview. We called NVC to get the numbers we needed, filled out the DS 260, paid our fee, and set up an interview date online. The letter from the consulate ended up coming in the mail about a week before the interview, so I scanned it and emailed it to my fiance. Good luck!!

so you guys are saying we can call one of the numbers on the letter saying we have a case number in juarez interview so we can get ahead,so we dont have to wait for the packet to arrive if we follow those links and advice you gave.Just wondering what we do if we never get it before heading to Juarez if it takes too much time to arrive. From what I gather from your answers then the packet is just a letter with phone numbers and a list of websites and links with stuff to download and fill out and bring to interview.

What are the best times for my fiance to call them then

Thanks to everyone for all the extra info and tips also.

You get the CDJ case number by calling the NVC. I posted the phone number for the NVC above. You have to call them to get your CDJ case number and the other numbers needed to fill out the DS-260. The best time to call the NVC to get an operator on the line is early morning: 7:30am EST or late night after 10pm EST.

Yes, there is no 'packet' for Juarez. As I posted above, it is just a letter with all the websites you need to go to for the forms, instructions and to schedule your appointments. They are the same links as I posted above. You can get started filling out the DS-260 and other forms and scheduling your ASC and interview without waiting for the letter because the letter simply points you to the same sites, instructions and forms. Be sure to read through the instructions. It is very important and contains almost all the information you need for getting through the Juarez process. Step by step of what you need to do and what you need to bring with you.
