Boo-hoo, no reason to be a crybaby about this. VCS has had far longer processing times than CSC for a long time and somehow we're living with it. And yes, young people brought to the US as children do need some sort of status far more than us who already have a (temporary) green card. I hate waiting, too (and I'm waiting a lot because I just got an RFE, haha), but I try to look at this with some compassion.

And as for some of us here acting like we're all such a law-abiding crowd, I bet there are people here who only got married with the purpose of getting a green card. Let's be real; this is why USCIS demands all the documentation they can lay their hands on.

Disagreeing with the way your government is handeling something is a long way from boo-hooing and baing a "crybaby". And for those "acting like we are such a law-abiding crowd" it's called "benefit of the doubt". This is a web forum, not the USCIS. If someone says they are on the up and up here, what does it behoove me to assume they are a liar? I agree that people brought here as children deserve a way to make themselves legal. But they reneged on the initial assertion that they would backlog them until the fees collected allowed the necessary expansion. I'll leave whether that was due to pressure in election season or not up to people who care more about debating politics. Point is, things are slowING (not at bottom yet). Not crying about it, but not doing a cartwheel and 3 cheers over it either.

Not sure why you quoted me. I was just clarifying the situation. Never hinted I agree with any of it. I'm waiting on NOA-2 right now for my fiancee and watching the CSC slow down more and more as the dream act lite applications flood in.

I quoted you because your post was the most recent to use the term "back of the line". I didn't mean to imply you were in favor of the current amnesty push; I only wanted to point out that that phrase is very misleading.

I think we can all agree there are serious management problems at USCIS... Whether workload distribution between CSC and VSC or now incorporation of other types of applications, it is taking too long considering the cost involved. Or even N-400s: the process takes 8 months in NYC while some other parts of the country get it done in 3-4 months, but we all pay the same fees. Regarding temp status applications by young undocumented immigrants though, I was hoping to convey that despite my frustration with USCIS overall, I try to keep calm by reminding myself some people can be helped by this more than me right now :-)

PS. I noticed some people mentioning the DREAM act - this is not what was passed. The DREAM act is still a proposal and the current process for young undocumented immigrants is so-called Deferred Action.

Well, I must be in a minority here because I'm dead set against amnesty for illegals. As all of us have, I've made a large expenditure in time and money to do things the right way and I don't have much sympathy for those who break the laws of the land and violate the sovereignty of my country. That they would receive a nod and wink pass on what they did is unacceptable. It's all well and good to talk about "the back of the line," but what about the people who will apply in the meantime? They have to take a spot in line behind illegals, despite doing things the correct way? It doesn't sit well with me.

You are NOT alone kaospouse ! Excellent post !!!!!!!

It seems VSC is catching up. However , if you look at the volume , VSC is two or three times more than counterpart in CSC.

Hopefully, they just balance out the two centers. I believe that once CSC gets caught up completely. Both centers will move on forward.

I have to cross my fingers. I think July , Aug and Sep filers will be done by may 2013.

Again cross my fingers. Hopefully , Dream act will not affect too much. Other than that we can do nothing.
