Nola, I don't think anyone is rubbing anyone's faces in anything. People are excited. Everyone is allowed to be happy when we get through the next steps. Nobody is sharing their great news in order to hurt anyone else.

I didn't mean it as intentionally hurtful, but perhaps something people can think over in the future. The post titles are just filing the CR1 progress sub-forum right now and it is really painful to look at for people who are not quite so lucky. Yes, people should be happy, but when you know that everyone else is waiting it is a little thoughtless.

I'm happy for you, I really am.

Congrats on your approval!!!!

I personally do not see what is so rude and cruel about posting your short timeline. Its personal choice not to read the post . I understand people are going through different challenges but we should not cut others joy and celebration just because we cannot have ours yet too.

We should laugh and cry together regardless of our personal situation. That is the right way to it.

I was shocked too when I completed NVC in just 20days and i truly wish others will have it like that too or even shorter but its beyond MY control.

You can't possibly know what if feels like and it was in the title and many other's titles in this sub forum this past week. There are so many people here waiting on Atlanta, responses to NOID that are taking longer than these case completes, that perhaps a little discretion is in order.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Agreed, we are looking for helpful information that will speed our cases or help others understand the process, and long threads filled with nothing but "Awesome, congrats" are time-consuming to read, discouraging to the anxious and stressed, and really not helpful in the main forum.

Mods, could we break congratulation threads out into a subforum?

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

All advice is given pursuant to the Disclaimer that you may read at the bottom of each forum page.

LATEST STEPS:

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

I've held my tongue long enough.

First, OP, congrats, it's awesome that you're approved, but it makes me bitter being from Canada and all.

But whatever, that's my problem.

Honestly, I find YAY I'M APPROVED threads just irritating in general.

I find them more appropriately placed in your submission threads (I-130 November, December etc)

However, this IS the progress reports forum... and this WOULD be a report of progress lol.

So, the thread is in the appropriate place it's been designated for.

I assume that's exactly what THIS forum was made for

KDH stated perfectly one of the purposes of the "Progress Reports" forum. No separate "congratulations forum" is needed or necessary.

Well said KDH - and I will go a little farther.

By all means put the number of days in the header. I find it encouraging that some cases are getting through quickly. The person getting approved has every right to be joyous and allow us to share in it. If I am one of the long time frame cases I will have to deal with it but understand it has nothing to do with the folks blessed with quick passage.

Congratulations all over again!

Well, I'm glad you do because every time I see it a part of me dies inside. I guess your good feelings from it will balance out my bad and I'll shut up about it now.

OMMGGGG

"On January 29, 2013, your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was approved. "

We filed from Canada btw.

I am actually crying right now. Having not received my NOA1 Hardcopy my mind went thought of the worst possible scenarios that could've happened. I called in to USCIS today waited for almost an hour for an ISO (Tier 2) to get talked down to, she let out a very loud sigh when I had another question to ask and she basically was telling me I was to contact USPS and ask why I didn't get my letter that should've been sent to Canada. It was such a terrible experience and I was so upset. All I wanted to do was to confirm that they had the correct address. I got off the phone feeling so dejected.

10 Minutes later, I checked my email..I WAS APPROVED! I was ecstatic! Waiting for hubby to come home so we can celebrate!!!

Congrats to you and your loved one

I also posted about the fast approval of my petitions last month. Although mine was posted in another forum. That thread had over 200 views & not a single reply. After a while I realize that in my haste in posting & putting the number of days it took, I appeared inconsiderate of others that have filed way before me & still weren't approved. I'm sorry my thread came across like that.

To the OP congratulations, I can relate how happy you are about the approval.

Good luck to the rest of you that are awaiting approvals.

To me, it doesn't matter if they put the days or not. I don't think it's inconsiderate. I just want approval too. Though, I'll admit that I do get jealous.
