We filed from Canada btw.

I am actually crying right now. Having not received my NOA1 Hardcopy my mind went thought of the worst possible scenarios that could've happened. I called in to USCIS today waited for almost an hour for an ISO (Tier 2) to get talked down to, she let out a very loud sigh when I had another question to ask and she basically was telling me I was to contact USPS and ask why I didn't get my letter that should've been sent to Canada. It was such a terrible experience and I was so upset. All I wanted to do was to confirm that they had the correct address. I got off the phone feeling so dejected.

10 Minutes later, I checked my email..I WAS APPROVED! I was ecstatic! Waiting for hubby to come home so we can celebrate!!!

Apps filed in overseas consulates are always fast...cause it's done in-house at the embassy. Makes me wish that I would've moved to a foreign country for a couple of months.

that is dcf filing which is not avail for canada.

however filing abroad does also typically move fast.

but it was not touched by the embassy.

Congratulations! Mine went through in 40 days as well. When you say you filed from abroad do you just mean that you are in Canada? Because we don't have direct consulate filing so I'm not sure what you meant.

Nola, I don't think anyone is rubbing anyone's faces in anything. People are excited. Everyone is allowed to be happy when we get through the next steps. Nobody is sharing their great news in order to hurt anyone else.

Nola hun I did the same thing with my thread that I kind of regretted later for the same reasons you stated, but at the time I was so excited I didn't even think! When you get the approval so unexpectedly you're shaking and freaking out and wanting to tell the world so that everyone can be happy with you. It's also that you want to give hope to others that if it happened to me, it could happen to you too.

I'm so sorry, I know this is def not going to help with your situation at all. If I could do something to help, I swear I'd do it in a second! I especially know how you feel b/c I hate this place too and can't WAIT to get out of here and back home where I belong. Just please believe that no one means to hurt anyone else.

Filing from abroad means that the petitioner lives abroad with the beneficiary. The addresses on the I-130 and G-325A reflect this.

DCF, Direct Consular Filing, is when you file directly with the embassy in your country and this is only available in certain countries, like China and the UK PLUS the petitioner has to be a resident of that country, ie have a residence permit/visa, not just be visiting.

I personally do not see what is so rude and cruel about posting your short timeline. Its personal choice not to read the post . I understand people are going through different challenges but we should not cut others joy and celebration just because we cannot have ours yet too.

We should laugh and cry together regardless of our personal situation. That is the right way to it.

I was shocked too when I completed NVC in just 20days and i truly wish others will have it like that too or even shorter but its beyond MY control.
