Now that I'm getting ready to do the ROC process from marriage based GC, I have couple of questions. I have looked through the forum, but didn't find any post with similar situation

1. I lost my 2 year GC, but I have copy of both front and back of the card to send in. Do I still need to get a new one? I don't plan on going out of country. But I'm working and wondering if I'll need the original GC to show proof of legal residence.

2. Regarding the evidence of genuine marriage, we don't have any shared bank account (our choice), and all utility bills are in his name (I let him handle all those things). I also don't have mail that's addressed to both of us, most are just Mr & Mrs Lastname. But we have:

- Birth certificate for our child

- Both our name on the house deed (but not the mortgage)

- photos of events

- Copy of driver licence showing the same address

- Life insurance listing each other as benericiary

- Joint tax return transcript for 2011 & 2012

Do you think that's enough evidence?

Federal law requires you to keep your original green card in your possession at all times. Only you can decide whether you want to go through the hassle of replacing it while you are simultaneously filing for RoC.
