Hello and good day to all.. My fiance had his interview last wednesday in Ciudad Juarez, MEX and he received a blue slip asking for I-864 instead of the i-134? Ive called the consulate so many times today and yesterday and they all say that I need to send exactly what the blue slip says. Can someone please help me out? Has anybody ever been through this?

Purpose of Form :To show that the applying immigrant has enough financial support to live without concern of becoming reliant on U.S. government welfare.

Although USCIS does not charge a fee for this form, the Department of State does charge a fee when the Affidavit of Support is reviewed domestically. This does not apply when the Affidavit of Support is filed abroad.

You may want to review the form. USCIS website.

Never heard of Juarez asking for the I-864 for a K-1. From their instructions: "The Affidavit of Support I-864 is not required."

But if that is what they want from you, then give it to them. You will need to fill out another I-864 for AOS after you are married, so I guess this one will teach you how to fill it out and you will be ready for AOS as far as how to fill out the I-864 anyway. There is an example form here on VJ under the AOS example forms. If you need any help filling it out, just ask.

Good morning all,

Earlier this month, I filed my I-129F on behalf of my fiancée and when she gets the opportunity to be interviewed at the Cuidad Juarez consulate I wonder if I have to provide an I-864 and two DS-230 one for each of us?

Thanks again

No. This seems to be a strange, unique case. You need the I-134 and the DS-230 is not used for a K-1 at Juarez. The DS-260 is used there. Only your fiancee fills out the DS forms for the interview. These are the instructions: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/packetk1may.pdf

There is also info here: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

And reading through the reviews can also help: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Mexico
