is there a problem with me flying into Canada as an american? i want to fly from lebanon into toronto and then have my ma pick me up the next day either in toronto if they can get in (they dont have passports) or ill take a bus to buffalo ny.....is there a problem with me doin that ya think? im askin cause i am flying with a couple friends i met here so i dont have to fly alone

Poor Jess- your question ad to take a back seat to the more pressing matter of getting Moody her first heart. Hearts are very important here

You should not have any problem flying into canada. You will have to go through immigration, but on a US passport you will not need a visa. Then you will have to go through US immigration at the border. The US officials may ask you for your passport, but getting through is so simple. I assume you have crossed here before since your parents are close enough to pick you up?

As long as you have a passport or birth cert you should be fine. Have a safe trip.

You will not have trouble clearing Canadian immigration. You can enter as a tourist (even though your "tour" is the 40 minute drive to Niagra Falls :P )

You should easily cross at the US border also. So many people go back and forth across the border. At worse you will be asked to pull over and questioned and or search a little more thoroughly.I am not sure when the passport rule for crossing the border kicks in. It sure woul dbe nice for your parents to meet you and drive you across.

Will her parents have trouble getting into Canada without passports? I know I've been to Canada without a passport, but I was a minor at the time.

ETA: Ok, I just looked it up. A passport isn't necessary, but proof of U.S. citizenship is.

Thanks for looking it up. There is a new rule going into effect that will require Canadians (and I assume USC) to have passports, but not sure when that happens.

Guess I could look it up...but naaaahhhhh

I saw when I was just looking this up. Seems it will be implemented in 2007.
