Tax question regarding Affidavit of Support

Hi Friends,

in 2009, and 2010 I was unemployed and did not make much money. Around the end of 2010 I found employment (my current employer) and my 2011 tax return shows enough income. My question is this: Should I just send 2011 instead of the last 3 years? Since NVC give us a choice of sending either last year's or last 3 years return.

I would say send the 2009 and 2010 records as well and a letter explaining that you were unemployed during those periods. Also, send recent pay stubs (past 6 months should do) and a letter from your current employer saying that you are currently employed at their company. This should be sufficient.

its up to you. ONLY THE LAST tax year is required. you can add previous twoyears if you want. since we are almost filing tax year 2012, you could also use that and then have beneficary go with previous two years to interview in case they ask for it.

just make sure you send NVC a letter from your employer statingyour title, salary and date of employment ( it helps) and attach randon copies of pay stubs.
