St Lukes Medical

My fiancee notified me about 5:45pm Manila time that she passed her medical.. Of course with so many TB scares and delays I was worried.

For those fiancee's on this side of the pond here is some helpful hints as I did not sleep so well the past two nights while she underwent her medical. Here is a link that I decided to slow down and review two nights ago while she was there. :bonk: Should have reviewed this earlier. http://www.slec.ph/ Below is a summary of her two days

Arrived 8:30-am ( a little later than what St Lukes recommends the 6-8am time line.

Make sure you have a larger passport style photo as her US size for our K1 was too small. She paid 150p (roughly) for them to take their size photo and gave her 6 copies.

It takes a long time in each area with forms to fill out, then exam (see flow chart about in link) and then approval to move to next area.

Day One was completed at 6:30pm her time. So 9 plus hours. Then told to come back Day 2 at 3pm for her vaccinations. Which include if you see on the flow chart TB skin test.... Hence why my sleep last night was not so good.

At 4:45am my time today I recieved her BUZZ on YM. She was done and now sitting at Jolliebee to eat. They gave her a CD and a packet to give up at the Interview. Finally Passed! She is sore due to her shots but okay.

Now some advice...... If you are just starting this journey you have anywhere from 3-7 months wait until this process. Have your fiancee checked for TB in her own Province. This was my biggest fear as St Lukes has a high rate of "suspious" results that need further evaluation. They use the term suspious and need further review from what I read here. This means delay for you and your fiancee in the event any delays happen during medical. Why not at least clear that part up in your mind so your delay is only 6-8 weeks if they see something on her/his xray versus months if she/he needs TB treatment. You at least have a heads up on all this if you get the test months prior.

I hope this helps
