Hi Everyone!

I've completed my journey at last but now it's my brother's turn to go through either a CR-1 visa process or K-1 visa process! Him and the fiance are leaning towards CR-1 visa but have a few questions based on their relationship history. First his background story: He has known and been with his fiance for over 6 years total with a breakup in between lasting 2 years or so. He recently got back with her towards end of last year and know they are thinking of doing the CR-1 visa but are concerned about not having enough evidence of marriage. They are thinking of getting married this March and filing for CR-1 soon after. He is wondering what evidence would be enough to show evidence of marriage if they just got married? Is this the way to go for them or is there a foreseeable problem in their case due to lack of evidence? Will the adjudicator look at their case suspiciously or negatively? I told them they should just do the K1 Fiance Visa instead as they could easily provide evidence of relationship but CR-1 has the advantage of being able to get your 2 year greencard after arriving in the US. What do you all recommend? Sorry if this is a bit confusing. He is awaiting your responses :)

if he has been the boy friend on and off for 6 years. he should have a lot of evidence of relationship trips, passportstamps.pictures togather, family, atm receipts, gifts. your marriage certificate, how much evidence do you need, you have enough.if you get married file 1-130 cr-1 visa, she will receive a green card and social security card after she arrives in the us,it could take 8 to 12 months for approval for her to come to the u.s, there is a back up with all the centers,if you do 1-129f k-1 visa fiancee.not married yet.cost more money,if approved come to the us you have 90 days to get married the you file for adjust of states the fee is 1,070. the forms .1-485.1-765-1-131 advance parole, you decide.

If a newlywed, the K-1 process will not apply.

My hubby and I got married in August and applied for CR1 in October. We sent in wedding photos and photos of him visiting my family at Christmas over our 3 year relationship. We also sent in affidavits from his sister and the 2 friends who stood up for us. Hope this helps! :star:

The USCIS doesn't expect newlyweds to have a tonne of evidence supporting their case as a married couple. Showing that they had an ongoing relationship BEFORE filing is what is going to show they will have one after filing.
