Why send pictures

this is all we plan on sending - birth certificate of our daughter, tax return summary, joint bank statement, maybe mortgage statement. From reading various threads on visa journey over the years, it does seem like people who send in piles of photos and copies of emails are somewhat desperate and don't have any good real evidence. Why should I let some bored bureaucrats look at pictures of my daughter?

You can do any way you feel best for your case, unfortunately you still need to deal with these "bored bureaucrats", who play a major role on approve or deny your case.

It's your job to prove your marriage is real by submitting evidence, and pictures are considered as that.

I rather send them more, don't even care if some thrown away to the garbage can if that happens, than receiving the RFE.

Wish you all the best.

No... it's just people who want to avoid RFE's and interviews. I have never been RFE'd or interviewed... except for my K1 interview of course. We will see with N-400 whether I get a yellow letter (equivalent of RFE) but you're right, my first "go to" is bank statements, joint phone bill, car insurance etc, not photos... which is lucky 'cause Tony isn't a fan of photos!

Worst case scenario they are more than welcome to call my mum in australia and ask qns about us if they want, or my friends, or check my FB chat records. I have zero to hide but I don't think we'd do well in a Stokes, his sense of colour is very different to mine, as his his idea of where the pots and pans go (i.e. wherever he sees a space :S)

Were talking about removing conditions... You are right a picture of your daughter would be pointless, but then so would a birth certificate, so would emails. The goal is to show that you are living together as a couple not that you were able to produce offspring.

Pictures of the both of you at different locations with the plane tickets showing you traveled together shows an investment in the other person.. So does a joint bank statement, shared credit/deit cards, shared property, having the other person as a life insurance beneficiary, coverage on health insurance, etc.

When someone asks "Is this enough evidence" and they are asking about removing conditions - For me I look at the evidence they mention and I ask myself "Does this help prove these two have been living as a couple together?" If your evidence does not answer that question then you increase the likelihood of an RFE.

Simple as that.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

For ROC we didn't send any pictures.

I hate taking pictures. There's maybe a dozen pictures of my wife and I over the 3 years we've been married.

Still, what I sent for ROC was mostly financial info (bank accounts, to which she'd been added even before we got married, etc).

We'll see for N-400 soon, I guess, but we're definitely not sending any pictures with our Naturalization application either.

Слава Україні!
