Hi I need some help here, I am the USC I am preparing to file my taxes soon but have to file the w-7 form for my Husband, I went to the IRS and the lady gave me the form and told me they have this new policy that my husband has to submit is passport not copies to them in order for them to do the ITIN, Well me husband lives in Italy but he is from West Africa, it will be a big risk for him to mail his passport to me, what is they loose it during delivery? He would have to travel to Africa to get a new passport which will take a very long to replace. What can we do in this situation, can I still file married but filing seperately or what can I do ? I thank you in advance for any replies...
