How long did it take to learn to drive?

So the driving school FINALLY got back to me and they dont work evenings or weekends, the only times my husband can look after our daughter. And they only come to this town when they feel like it so it would have to be on a day to suit them when they are already coming here.

So after the call i went to work and was talking to a co-worker about it and he called his wife there and then to ask her if she would consider teaching me. So she said yes and i seem to have made a new friend out of it too. We are going tomorrow!

So i had my first driving lesson tonight in Kmart parking lot. It was actually not bad at all. Got pulled over by the police though because somebody reported us as being suspicious! The police man was laughing like crazy saying it was obvious what we were doing anyway but he had to come check it out since somebody called. We spent 3 hours there and we had fun as well and i have also made a friend out of it so win win all around.

About 2 years ago, my family and I were eating outside on the picnic table.

This car slows down the road, turns the corner, then backs up around the corner.

And continues doing this.

Now, there is a house right there on the other side of the corner that is known to be a drug house.

So we're sitting here like 'omg why won't these people just go get their drugs and go'

Because they're literally in-line with where we're eating and it's so weird.

Finally, my BIL gets fed up and walks over to ask if they're lost.

Chick was just trying to learn to back around a corner for her driver's test.

They left after that

Took my wife about six months to learn how to drive well and be confident with it. However, took me over a year to get her motivated to learn and understand that there was a real benefit to her and the kids for her to accept that she needed to be a driver.

Thanks everyone for the advice and experiences and the news article! A few months ago somebody committed suicide in their car in the Kmart parking lot and nobody found them for 4 days so im assuming that people are being extra careful with that location now.

My husband tried to teach me to drive stick. I cried and we haven't tried again.
