OP: Your wife needs to correct her card. As appalling as it may seem, the "new year problem" happens more frequently than it should.

Send in a I-90 with no fee based on USCIS error.

In the meantime, make an INFOPASS appointment and get a I-551 stamp in her passport. Then she can travel freely while her updated GC is processing.

I went obline and it said "there are no INFOPASS appointments available for the office in your area". I called USCIS and they said to file I-90 when we get back as we have to send in the original card. They said the card is valid for travel and reentry and to get it fixed when we get back.

Thanks for that, I've tried several times today. Unfortunately, I don't have many slots between now and next Wednesday and the wife isn't driving yet but I'll keep trying.
