Quick question!

My husband and I haven't gotten our assortment of NVC numbers yet (case, IIN, etc) but we've finished the paperwork for both the AOS and IV packets and sent them to my dad's address in the US (my husband and I are living in Ecuador at the moment) so that when the time comes to send them in, we won't run the risk of them getting lost in the mail or taking ages to get to the office. Problem is, a friend of mine just told me that on the I864 and DS230 we were supposed to fill everything out in caps. We did it in black ink... but not in caps. Is this going to be a big problem? I made sure everything was completely legible and easy to read, and like I said, we did it all with a black pen. It would be a shame to have to redo everything and send it to the US again (international shipping is NOT cheap) - but if I'm going to get a RFE for it not being in caps, I'll do it. Thoughts?

Strange you should as that as Ive just gone over both my forms this afternoon and changed all the entries to caps!!

I didn't want to risk it as it clearly says it should be caps in the first sentence on the information sheet for theI-864, see link below:

Ughh, I know, I'm so regretting not looking over those directions one last time before sending the papers. I was so focused on making sure the information was correctly, I didn't even think to check the instructions on HOW to fill in the information :bonk:

I know for sure that in filling up I-864 should be all in CAPITAL letters. But in DS-230 there wasn't any mention of it at all. My parents used both caps lock for their names & lower case letters for the addresses etc. Hope NVC is not going to nitpick this.

What if I filled them out again, signed them, and faxed or scanned them to email instead of snail mail? Would NVC accept that, or would it be too obvious that they were "copies"?

They will have to have original hand written signatures on the papers that you send to the NVC.
