I would like to know how long I need to wait to receive the Visa? Can I choose to pick it up instead of waiting thru post office? After the interview, do they let us know the date to receive visa?

My husband and I are trying to get on the same flight, so we need to know my visa issue date to book ticket.

I don't know what country you are coming from but in Algeria he could pick up his visa from UPS only, or wait for it to be sent. Unfortunately you will not know the exact issue date ahead of time. It is always advised to wait until visa is actually in hand before buying plane tickets. The embassy gave us a date range and it wound up to be available for pick up 3 weeks after the range.

After the interview, they should give you an ESTIMATE on when u might receive the visa. It could be a few days to a few weeks. Maybe even more. It is advised NOT to purchase any plane tickets until you have visa in hand as many things could go wrong.

Some countries allow pick up for your visa, some mail to you. You should research about your country on VJ.

The HCMC consulate does not allow you to pick up visas there anymore. It could take anywhere from 2-14 days to get your visa, and some people who run into trouble end up waiting 1-3 months. It's advisable not to book your flight first. Who knows, you might even get a blue slip which would take a minimum of 1 month to get approved.

or could be an extra year or more... dont plan on the visa getting approved... work on getting through it and then go from there... too many people jump the gun and end up wasting $ and causing more frustration

Great question because I was going to attend the interview with my wife. I heard it's better, but then again, I'm only allowed 2 weeks of leave.

Then I was trying to figure out how I'm gonna fly there and come back with her sitting next to eachother in the same plane. Don't wanna go through the hassle of asking people to switch seats..

They can take care of that when you check in at the airport. easy to get seats together most times... just ask at the HCMC airport.
