Here is my situation:

In the beginning of Jan. , my husband (USC) and I (F-1) got married, but we haven't fully lived together yet. We live in the same city and spend a lot of time together. We always meet like 4-5 days a week and spend 2-3 nights a week together (more at my place than his place) since we were dating.

I'm still going to school (graduate degree) and this is my last semester (will graduate in mid-Apr). My classes are held in the evening til night, and my apt is much closer to school than his apt. Plus, I'm also waiting for our bedroom at my husband's apt get renovated first. That's why I still stay in my apt and haven't fully lived with my husband yet. I will be moving in to my husband's place in the beginning of Feb but still rent my apt til the end of Feb due to the lease requirements.

We'll be sending the green card application by the end of Feb. Regarding the form I-130, question 21, I wonder what I should answer about date and place we live together.

1. Should I start with the date I got married (although I haven't fully lived there yet) OR the date I move in to his place (will be about a month after we got married)? Would it be any problem?

2. About form I-693 vaccination record, should I wait until I move in to the his apt first so my address will be the same as in other forms? How long does it take to complete the medical exam?

Thank you very much :)

I would say the date you move into his (then yours) apartment. As you've stated yourself, you do not live there yet - so you can't really claim you do.

Many people are in similar situations in the early stages of their marriage, and I doubt it will pose any problems. In any case, by the time of your interview, you will be living together and haev lived together for a few months. I would suggest that as soon as you have officially moved in, you make sure your name is added to his lease, and you make sure there is proof of you residing there (such as mail coming to you in that address); then you make sure to bring this proof (the lease and whatever else you can muster together) to the GC interview when the time comes, so that you can easily prove that you moved in with him just around the time of sending out the AOS paperwork.

In terms of the vaccination record and the medical form, I'm not really understanding the connection between those forms and your address situation.. In terms of the medical, you have to make an appointment with a certified civil surgeon. Getting the appointment can take anything from a couple of days to weeks from when you call, depending on where you live and how busy the civil surgeon is.. you go for the first appointment, and then you have to go back in 72 hours to get the results of the TB test. Assuming the TB is negative, you get all the paperwork after the second appointment. It took me around 2 weeks from making the appointment to getting all the medical paperwork finished. I did not need any vaccinations, because I had received all the mandatory ones and had good records of all of them.

Thank you very much, Little_My. Your feedback is very helpful and I really appreciate it :D.

About the medical form, since I have to fill in the address, I just wonder if I should schedule for an appointment after the move-in date so that the address is consistent with the other forms. Seems like it takes some time to finish the form. I'll check out to see certified civil surgeon in my area.

My opinion: if you can get a date after you officially move-in (like the next day/week), that would be great but if not, its not a deal-breaker or red flag. Then again, this would depend on how urgent your AOS is or how soon you'd like to file. If you'd like, you could add a letter explaining the circumstances of your living situation to ease your nerves but it would not be a necessity... All the best
