a quick question:

i got a joint sponsor to sign the I-864, he has included recent pay stubs, and w2s for a year, however he doesnt know how much did he make in the other 2 of the 3 recent years. is it neccesary to fill those feilds?

Joint sponsors, like the petioner sponsor, must supply tax returns or an explanation why they were not required to file. This would be proof of income for past years.

no, the form says INCLUDE TAX RETURNS FOR THE MOST RECENT YEAR.

it doesnt say "include tax returns for 3 years."

am i not seeing something ?

My understanding is that it is necessary to fill in the field for the two other years (before 2005), but evidence for these year is optionel, i.e. tax returns etc. for 2005 are enough.

Self employed sponsors submit last 3 years tax returns with attachments.

Otherwise submit last year only with attachments.
