21 year old British male - B2 visa advice needed

Hey everyone, hope this is the right place to ask about my B2 visa attempt.

I am a 21 year old British citizen / university student who would like to spend his 4 and a half month summer vacation in the united states with my girlfriend.

I have been to the US many times when I was younger and recently spent this Christmas living with my girlfriend and her family over in the united states which I recently came back from.

I have a fair amount of savings and am easily able to support myself, I'm on multiple scholarship programs over here in the UK and will be returning to school in September.

I have also held down multiple jobs ranging from a paper boy, to a cashier and finally a graphic designer in the years up until I started university.

So do you lot think I have a shot at getting a visa?

First question, why can't you spend 90 days in the US? Your girlfriend is a tie to the US. If you are denied a tourist visa you lose the ability to use the VWP

Really I just wanted to stay as long as possible. Just been reading through a few posts on your forum and only now realized I would be denied access to the visa waiver program if I was denied this visa which is a scary thought indeed. If I enter using the VWP for 90 days, then go home for a few days, will I be able to re-enter the states for another 90 days if I wished?

In addition to whether or not you are allowed entry, your length of authorized stay is determined by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Given the scenario you mention above, there is a high degree of probability that you would be refused entry into the States by CBP.

Is there no chance of her coming to the UK with you when you leave after 90 days? That's the only way to spend the maximum amount of time possible with each other while living separately without raising an alarm by either the US or UK governments. Just don't mention girlfriends, only friends when you're going through the POE. It's the way my husband and I went about it when we were dating/engaged.

When I went through immigration over Christmas to visit her I told them I was going to visit my girlfriend and they seemed fine with letting me through. I wouldn't like to lie to them at boarder control, shes going to be coming to visit me over Christmas and next summer after that.

Absolutely.

While it is fully possible to be granted a B-2 visa for a stay of up to 6 months, it is rarely ever worth the risk if you're already eligible for the VWP.

The best case scenario:

You're given a 10 year, multiple entry B-2 visa, allowing stays of up to 180 days at a time.

The worst case scenario:

You're denied a visa under 214b (not sufficient ties to the UK), barred from using the VWP ever again, and told to apply for a new B-2 visa if/when your situation changes, and you can provide stronger evidence of ties to the UK. I would not risk it.

In my opinion, stay 6 weeks shorter, and just revisit a couple of months later.
