The moment you are admitted into the states on an immigrant visa and you receive your 2 yrs green card or 10 yrs 10 green card your status is: Permanent Resident.

When you apply and become citizen then your status will change to :Naturalized US Citizen

NB:I am not an Immigration Attorney, All i say here is based on my personal experiences through K-1 visa process and CR1/IR1 visa process.

You still were a conditional permanent resident.

My conditional GC was valid from 2005 until 2007, via marriage to US citizen. Got my 10 GC in March 2008. Between my Conditional GC expiring and getting my 10 GC what status was in in?

I think when you apply for the Removal of Conditions, they issue you a letter extending your conditional GC for 1 year, so your status would be that conditional GC.
