Hi Guys!

I really wanna ask about the update in getting NBI clearance.

I got mine last year of February and I had a horrible experience in getting this.

I had to wake up 2am in the morning ride on a taxi going to Robinsons Mall. I arrived 2:30am expecting I would be the 1st in line but I noticed a very very very very long line going to the next side of the highway

I have to use overpass to get the last person in line! When I was in the line already, I was so sleepy that time thank God

my mother went with me and I have someone to talk to. Then 6am, the line was moving going to the other side of the highway which is the Robinsons Mall (where I have to get my nbi) and a guard having a head counts. Around 7am we were up there to the 5th floor of the parking area of the mall and the guard was giving the numbers to the people. I just learned that they only accommodate 500 persons (it's very unfortunate for the 501st) and you know I was the 461st in the line knowing I was there at 2:30am OMG!! I finished the whole process about 4:30pm (imagine of long standing, sitting on cold floor, hungry and sleepy)

only to say to me of the officer that I have to get back for again after 2weeks to get my nbi clearance form????? OMG!

Now I have to get one, AGAIN!

Does anyone here (kababayan , sis) any updates?

Is getting nbi same as the last year?

Do I have to wake up again so early to fall in the line again??

any reply's of yours responding to my question about the updates or your experiences getting nbi this year is a big help cause' I might get an idea.

Thanks and God Bless all!

Good news, it's not like that anymore. The NBI changed their record systems that time that's why it was chaotic. If you are in Manila area, the less crowded NBI center is at Robinsons Otis near UN Ave. But you will probably wait 2 weeks still to get the clearance form because once your name is already submitted to the US embassy as an intending immigrant, they have your name automatically checked. I used to get my clearance in one day but when I tried to get a new one recently, they asked me to come back after 2 weeks. So plan it accordingly. Good luck. :)

Hi, have you tried applying online? Here's the link. https://nbi-online.com/login

I got mine last Sept 2012. Went online, paid thru GCASH (Globe Center) then went to NBI Manila on Sept 4, 2012. Those who applied online were entertained in a small room, it took me only 30 min or less. I was asked to come back after 3 days. Got my clearance then. When you pay thru GCASH you will be given a slip and instructions are stated there. God bless you.

if I may ask, what is the purpose of you getting NBI recently? Does it mean that you have to state "intending immigrant" and that you will be automatically checked? This is good then maybe for those who have a No- Criminal record remarks on their NBI, they might not need anymore to wait for like 1-2 months to finish all the Letter of Explanation from NBI. (Just a thought)..

I wanted to show a very recent NBI clearance for my visa interview. I just filled out the NBI clearance application like before with purpose of "Travel Abroad" so I would get the green form. But at the encoding part, the lady stamped my receipt with a date which is 2 weeks from the day I applied. I did not even see it, I just found out when the guy at the releasing area shouted that for those who got a date stamped at the back of the receipt needs to go back on that date. And it was a date after my interview so I asked if I can get it earlier. They said no because they need to do more checking. I never had to wait for 2 weeks to get my NBI clearance before. I told them that I need the certificate for my interview at the embassy and they said that's why they really need to do so some checking.

I ended up giving a 3-month old NBI clearance during the interview, which I got when I renewed my passport. Good thing they accepted it.

They now put "NO RECORDS ON FILE" on the clearance form. I have read that a lot of people got in trouble with the "No Criminal Records" remark.

Is that accurate and good choice?

I have a gcash account, can I use mine or I have to go to the globe business center?

If I finished the process online and have to get my nbi, do I need to get it in Manila (main) only

or in any places that are affiliated in nbi like Robinsons mall..?

and last thing I am confuse, what should I input

TRAVEL ABROAD?

or

VISA USA?

thanks!

If you have a "hit", then you will always get your NBI clearance after 10 working days, regardless of how early you come to the NBI office.

Hit means you have a similar name with another person or persons.
