Good day! I'll be out of work in a few weeks and I want to do the affidavit of support before that will happen, I estimate that it will take another 3 months before I will

hear about my NOA2, my question is how long is the affidavit of support be valid? does anybody had experience showing affidavit of support that is 3-4 months old

before the interview? thanks..

Your plan won't work. What matters is current and ongoing income at the time of the interview (and again for AOS). Normally I'd suggest a co-sponsor, but USEM doesn't normally allow co-sponsors for the K1, so your best bet is to delay and find a new job asap.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Your affidavit of support will be four or five months old by interview day. Your plan won't work anyway because the consular officer will be looking for some of your current paycheck stubs, and you won't have any.

If ur unemployed and in school or just graduated a co-sponsor will work for usem

Sometimes.

thanks... I'll take note of that...hmmm usually you cant give your current income/pay stubs at the time of interview it is at least weeks or a month old because of the time needed to prepare and send it, thats why It pass to my mind a 1-3 months old affidavit of support might work... what is your opinion about that? thanks a lot for your reply i appreciate it a lot...

thanks for the reply/suggestion, I guess it will be 2-3 months old, I know it is better if you can give the most current one... thats why i ask myself how current a paystub should be? will the consul/embassy will accept a 3 month old affidavit of support since they have no guidelines how current the affidavit should be...

Sometimes.

yah, I read an article that K1 visa doesnt accept a co-sponsor and usually being unemployed or in school will not matter..

You are signing an official government document saying what you state is correct. If you fill it in 3 months ahead of time and your circumstances change, you MUST update. Otherwise if they find out (and chances are they will), you are in deep trouble. Don;t risk the visa on this.
