I've entered in the US on K-1 visa. I got married and i sent the AOS documents. I recieved letter from the USCIS today, its a RfE on I-864. My wife doesnt work so we used her mother as a joint sponsor. In the letter they asked from my wife to submit the I-864 affidavit of support too. My question is do we have to send the I-864a form, with my wife's affidavit because we are living in the same house. Her mom meets the requirements for the affidavit. So is it ok if i send my wife's affidavit and her mom (the joint sponsor) all over again, and do i need to include I-864a? Please help :)

Even if you live with your co-sponsor unless you will be combining incomes then your wife just needs to fill out an I-864 as well an put on there no income. The I-864a is to combine incomes with a qualifying household member.

I had the same problem, husband's step-dad is sponsor & husband is no income, got an RFE because only sent signed paper from step-dad. I didn't realize that you are still suppose to send in a zero-income Affidavit of Support from your petitioner.

Yea, i dont really understand the USCIS and why are they asking Tax return when you send the W2. You are basicly sending the same documents all over and over again. I dont get it. But still, good luck to everyone that are on the same boat as me.
