If you are the UK beneficiary, you will have your interview at the US Consulate in the UK.

If you are legally resident in a foreign country you can request your interview to occur at a different consulate. Not all consulates perform all services. It appears that K-1's are not issued in Cancun as the Consulate agency in Cancun is limited services only. From the activity here on VJ, it appears that most K-1's are issued out of Ciudad Juarez. I am not sure what other consulates in Mexico issue them.

YMMV

Ciudad Juarez is the only US Consulate in Mexico that issues fiance or spousal visas and they do not process third country national fiance or spousal visas.

Thanks ALL,

So I guess what you are saying is that I will have to, at some point, return to the U.K.

Any ideas on the following :

(1) How much notice I will get prior to the interview date.

(2) How long I should plan to be in the U.K. after the interview.

Thanks again.

Check out the UK forum (under regional discussions) for details of how much notice K1-ers got for their interviews. I guess they will inform you about the interview by post - what address have you put on your application? (although I think they may email you also)

You'll need to attend the medical as well (this can be done on the same day but is usually done beforehand so there is no delay in issuing the visa) then wait for the visa to arrive (usually a 'few' days later.)

Good luck.

Permanent Resident Since 01/03/2007

N-400 application mailed 3/20/17

Credit card charged 3/25/17

Thanks.

I am using my parents address as my base in the U.K. They open all of my mail so, if I was still out of the country, they would call me and let me know the date.
