2 year marriage and IR1/CR1

Sorry if this seems stupid but getting too much different answers.

(Being on phone to do internet things has rendered me useless)

I am waiting for Case complete. Now I personally would like to have interview anytime after May 3rd (our 2 year) but I was also told that husband could still interview before May 3rd its the POE that determines the IR1 or CR1.

So which is it what the date is at interview or POE?

He can get a cr1 interview visa. Then the visa will expire in less than 6 months or it expires when medical expires. Then at poe he mentions he has been married 2 years and to please mark ir1 visa

Or at interview after may he can mention he wants the ir1 cause he has been married 2 years

Either way is acceptable.

Make sure when the greencard comes that it says ir1 and make an infopass appt if it is wrong

He will get the ten year greencard if your anniversary has passed by the time he enters the USA. If the anniversary happens after the interview and before POE, it's a good idea to point that out to the immigration officer at the airport so he won't overlook it.

HE MUST ASK the CBP fella to change the designation to IR-1.

It's not automatic - and it's hard to remember to ask, after getting on that international flight and getting herded like cattle through the immigration checkpoint.

So remind him, have him have a cheat sheat stapled to the inside of his passport, opposite the bio page.

Will they allow me to be beside him as he POE? I plan to be with for interview and back.

Good to know though I feel better. The sooner we get the interview part over with the better.

I remember that immigration line at IAH when I came back from Nigeria. I swear every plane in America landed the same time. That was crazy times.
