Hey!

We had our interview in Raleigh on 17th Jan. We were told that everything is fine and we will get approved as soon as they get updated vaccination card (I was surprised because before I came here I made sure that I have everything done... apparently I needed a flu shot and extra dose of varicella vaccination). Anyways, I went to the civil surgeon the same day and took care of everything. We mailed the sealed envelope of Friday, Jan-18th. Since then I haven't hared from them. I know it's been only a week but I've sterted getting worried. I didn't get any notice that they received the mail. I've been wondering if anybody has an experience with that and can let me know if there is anything to be worried about at that point.

Thank you in advance :star:

Did they really make you get a flu shot? I would think that would be by choice if not that scares me I dont want my fiancee to have to get one i am highly against those things

Yea, I was def against it. I know I'm not in a risk group for influenza with complications. I asked them and they said it's required due to the flu season. Go figure

Your interviewer was not up on their handbook that says if you were up to date on the date the vaccination form was filled out, then they go by that date. Flu shots are not required before Oct 1 (start of flu season) so on the date of your vaccination form you did not require a flu shot. But unfortunately he sent you for shots so unlucky you. It should be fine. They don't always give you instant feedback...like in a week. There was a holiday on Monday so it may not have arrived until Tues to Thursday this week.

FYI-Flu shots are required of all persons over 6 months of age during flu season (Oct 1-Mar 31). Requirements changed Nov 2010.

Thank you! I wasn't aware of it. I'm a nurse in Poland and rules there are much different when it comes to the flu shots. Anyways, it's not a big deal, I did it because I was told to.

I guess now I'll just patiently wait and hopefully update my timeline soon ;)
