I believe if he just puts it into an evelope and writes Immigration Unit it will be okay. That is what I put on the DHL airbill when I sent it.

Has he gotten the other documents yet?

He didn't need the passport when she filed the petitition for the I-129f, however, it will be required for him to to start the visa application on his end.

Yes Sean Ebony, you can request the express to have the passport in a week but do it quickly b/c we all know how laid back JA can be.

Ah ok, so it's different in Brazil, having a passport is required to start the visa process.

wouldn't it have been an idea to get such earlier as getting it later on could slow things down?

Yes, but in packet #3 in Jamaica it will tell you to request one at that time. Some choose to have it done before hand.

The passport is not required when filing the I-129F, but you'll need to provide passport info in the packet 3, so he'll have to wait for his passport before sending in packet 3.

You're right, I take it back. I just looked and neither the g325 or the I129 ask for passport info. I guess I was confused with the tourist visa, that they ask for the passport number just so you can go to the website and apply for the visa. My bad

Actually in Jamaica, you CAN drop off the DS 230 w/o your passport...they send Packet #3 out when they have received your case from NVC...Now, you won't be able to do anything else (i.e. get the Non-Impediment forms & medical) without the passport...the other forms in packet #3 (DS 156, DS156K, DS 157 can be filled out w/o the passport)

Hurray up and request the passport by the express way. If not it can take up to 4 months the regular way. My husbands took up to 4 months to get.

Yea, I knew having a passport wasn't required when sending out the I-129F but we decided to get it early because we knew that could take time.

I haven't received my NOA2 yet but am still trying to be a step ahead so that when the next step comes along we can move quickly.

I said not to send packet 3 before the passport is done 'cus if they schedule the interview too fast or something, they might still not have the passport by the time of the interview.

Mine was expired but I got it renewed right after I sent in my I-129F.
