hmmmmm - curiouser and curiouser - like minds think alike !

I, too, called an ISO today. went over the fact that I have 4 expedite attempts so far with no response. She said - wow - I've reviewed all of your stuff in my system - your expedite requests have been ignored - let me start a new one !

So, bloooooooie! a new expedite request for me, also, today.

Hang in there, la.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

You think it is worth it to write out a proper letter and send in the evidence to Hartford via mail? It'll probably take 1-2 weeks to get there.

There is never too much of evidence you can send. I would say- they sent it to Hartford because Im guessing Hartford is your local office based on the address in the states you provided no?

If you were in the states I would say make an infopass apt and bring your expedite evidence to the field office and deliver it to them in person but you cant do that..

1-2 weeks for mail is a bit long... A work around may be.. hmm. Youve mentioned having family in the states. Perhaps you can email them your docs. Have them print it out and overnight/expressmail/certify mail it to Hartford for you (or even bring it in to the Hartford field office infopass in person if they dont live too far?). If youre concerned about it coming from a local address you can attach a cover sheet stating - I am overseas, this is an urgent matter. I emailed this to my family blah blah blah had them print it and express mail it to you as regular mail from here takes weeks. My correct address is xyz.- Our A#s are x. And label it urgent urgent urgent. expedite request enclosed.

No. I'd have a family member walk in with a full file of the expedite request, instead.

No infopass - just walk in. Tell the guards - I'm trying to handle an expedite request that got mucked up at the lockbox and MSC and the National Call Center and need to speak with the I-130 unit supervisor.

Then once the family member is talking with the 'front-line counter window staff' - ask for the I-130 unit supervisor. Be prepared to wait. The front-line clerk will try to be helpful, but you want the I-130 unit supervisor - as that's the only human (supposedly) that can pull the file and do something with the expedite request.

Now, once that family member is talking with the I-130 unit supervisor - ask him to look up the computer record, chasing after the service requests. Ask the I-130 unit supervisor to ACT on the service requests, and give over the expedite request. Tell the I-130 unit supervisor that the casefile needs to be adjudicated this week and sent off to NVC this week. Tell the I-130 unit supervisor - 'I know you have to look this up - I will wait here whilst you look this up in your system, and pull the casefile'. Also tell that human - 'You probably have some local guidelines for expedites and casefile adjudication - We put in the expedite based on expedite processing guidelines for CSC and your local office is completely ignoring these guidelines - Why to ignore the guidelines for how to handle an expedite request?'

If yer lucky, the I-130 unit supervisor will review the service requests online, pull the casefile, assign the casefile to an adjudicator right then, and get adjudicated this week.

It may be the family member needs a limited power of attorney document, in hand, to talk about your casefile with the local office folk. Unsure, at this point, but I'm leaning that way.

---

anyway - that's my 2 cents. Good Luck !

My mother actually has power of attorney that I gave her to deal with estate things. I'll see if she will do an infopass, but I have a strange feeling that she is not going to do it. I don't know if they will talk to someone who is not an attorney though. Hmmmm. This would be so much easier if I was in America!

I've mailed the stuff out earlier today before the post got collected here and by the time my mother were to get to the post office in America...well...I think the mail would already be there from Denmark. I've seen it get there in 4-5 days before....so maybe?

I'll talk to her and see if she will do it, but I wouldn't really want anyone else than her reading it and the evidence and things.

The senator's aid is going to make a direct inquiry with Hartford, so maybe it will move it along in the mean time? All 3 ISOs have promised a decision by tomorrow, so who knows? They all seemed so sure.

Today's update - there has been no visit for an infopass simply because my mother can't be bothered (thanks), but today I got this forwarded email. The formal expedite letter and evidence should be there soon. More ambiguous, yes?

I am contacting you in regards to your inquiry on the I-130 petition filed for ***** *****. Our records indicate that the file is here in our office. The supervisor is aware of this case. We are looking into the case and will get back to you with more information.

If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Thank you and have a great day.

So,

Today I called and spoke to an ISO. They can't ping the Hartford office or file a new expedite, because the file was with an officer and he was supposed to make a decision today about the expedite. Today has come and gone and nothing. So, they've missed the February 7th deadline and today's. I'm stuck... and they most likely have our evidence by now.

I can't get someone to go to the infopass in person.

At this point it isn't even an expedite request anymore, but more of a gosh darn it look it already issue.

Are we at a tried all our options point?

duh - you already know who this is - ask them to follow up with another inquiry or yet another followup.

They submitted a 4th inquiry this week directly to Hartford, again. Everyone seems to realize that they've messed up, but that doesn't seem to be helping any.

I also shot off an email to scopscata on Thursday.

The ISO told me to call back on Tuesday if there was no word, but I suppose it is possible that they sent off a letter on Friday after I called or that the ISO couldn't see.
