Interview is done but I am confused :/

So my husband and I went to our interview for AOS yesterday. The officer asked some questions and we were done in less than 15 minutes. He didn't say we were approved instead he said he needed to go over the paperwork again but that he thought he had enough evidence and information to approve us. And that he should expect "something" in the mail. What is this supposed to mean? I checked online but it hasn't been updated yet. So one of my questions is: if we are approved when will we know? And, I was expecting them to ask me what name I wanted in my GC if I was approved but the officer did ask anything. If I get approved how can I change my name if ithe GC comes with my maiden name? Yeah, I didn't know I could use my married name when I filled out the application papers

The "something" you will receive is either an approval or denial. It seems everything went well, so you should be approved. Wait a week or so and you should get the notification online. They usually don't tell you right then and there that you're definitely approved, since the application might have to be reviewed once more by a supervisor.

Your green card will have the name you filed under. You'd have to file for a replacement card if you want to change your name, and that will cost you $450 and another 4-month wait.

The post just above is correct. You can change your name during the Citizenship process.

We had our AOS interview too and thank God we were approved.. Did the IO gave you get an interview result paper before you left? I'm not sure if the result paper makes any difference though.. But I think you were approved

Thank you all! Yes I checked my status online yesterday and it said Approved! Yay!
