There are plenty of people who identify themselves as transgender who knew even at that age. I'm not sure why you're convinced the parents are making the child feel this way. Are they guilty of politicizing the issue? Perhaps. But these could very well be feelings she's genuinely had since a very young age. She would not be the first.
