If this is the same little girl whom I saw with Barbara Walters on TV the other night, both she and her parents are bright and intelligent and well adjusted. I commend her parents for being understanding, forward thinking, and compassionate with enough love for their child that they allow and help her to be who she is. Thank God that child wasn't born to some of the uneducated and hysterical types we see here. Life is hard enough as it is without being forced to be someone you're not.

No, it wasn't. You're hung up on the fact that she said she wanted to be a mother. Why? Because she can't biologically have children?

Not hung up on anything. I am aware that someone can be a mother even if not the biological mother. I just thought the whole scenario a bit strange and maybe more a product of her enviornment than anything biological, i.e. a 5 year old who is a transgender who wants to be a mom at 11. I'm sure it happens all the time, I have seen it quite a bit. But, in this scenario she got into the press and the back story seemed strange. I hope she has a healthy and fulfilling life and she will probably get more attention than she wants out this.
