I'm going out on a limb here, and you may think my pinko brain has been temporarily replaced, BUT --

I get at 11 years old that Sadie identifies as a girl, and have no problem with that. I know a female-to-male transgendered man who started transitioning at 12, and he's 40 now. You wouldn't know by looking at him that he was ever a little girl and he never felt like one. All that being said, I kind of agree with AJ that someone who is 11 years old making this kind of statement is probably being used by her parents for a political end. It feels exploitative, and given the circumstances, this could result in some serious real-world repercussions for this child. If the parents did push this, they should be ashamed for using their child as a pawn.

Okay, time to go back to making daisy chains with the homosexuals after we shop at Whole Foods with our Food Stamps.

I have no idea what the motive of the parents is in this case, but age 5 isn't an unheard of age range when it comes to these feelings.
