Aha! Younger child envy! Competing for attention! It all makes sense now. Older boy is ignored as the younger daughter is doted over, gets jealous, and finds a way to get all the attention he was denied, as the new girl in town!

i have no idea what those odds are, but it seems from reading the mother's info in that link that she was in the military or married to someone in the military when sadie was in kindergarden and this all began.

When her older daughter transitioned from male to female in kindergarten, the school, pediatrician, psychologist, endocrinologist, neighbors, and everyone else was just so confused and resistant to what they didn’t understand. Upon receiving death threats while living on base overseas, the military responded by moving them back to the states. Things didn’t improve as much as she’d hoped once they were stateside. The school does not welcome her daughter on campus, so Logan continues schooling her children at home.
