Do you need to make an appointment to get a SSN or do you just turn up?

Also can you go to any office or do you have to go to the one that serves your zip code?

12/24/12 - Biometrics Appointment Received.

Here in Florida, you don't need to make an appointment, you just go on walk in app, grab a number and wait. About the zip code, I guess you can go wherever you want but its better to try to find the nearest to your home...

Take a number and wait. Go to any office. We've moved to a large metropolitan area, so do driver license and Social Security things in a small town when we go to visit friends. Much shorter wait that way.
