Hello,

We are now adjusting our status from K-1 to I-551 (Permanent Residence). My husband and I have completed our documents and have all the necessary copies to send. I notice the instructions says to mail our request to Chicago instead of our local USCIS. What address in Chicago do we mail our packet? Thank you.

Ok I am not sure what is I-551. But if your are adjusting from K-1, you will need to file I-485. Follow this instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf, as well as guides on this site: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos and you will be fine.

Be sure and take your time to read the guides and see USCIS site directly, try to avoid the RFE issue. Also can you fill in your information it will help everyone, when you need assistance. Good Luck with your I485.

It might be a good idea to do another final review of the your AOS packet, just to make sure that you have included all of the required forms and documents.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
