Hi, i'm Australian Passport holder. 3 months ago, i applied for ESTA/VWP for US then got Travel Not Authorized. A week after that, i went for US Visa interview and got denied with the reason 214(b) No Strong ties to Australia.

My problem is i've just received a call from my mom saying my father got a result of stage 4 cancer. Now i really wanna go there to visit him. What should i do?

Could any one please give my any advice? I would be grateful. Thank you so much in advance. I'm waiting for your responses right now.

Unfortunately, there is no quick remedy for your situation, unless you make some major changes in your situation to re-apply for the US Visa.

Stronger ties are considered: Job, your spouse, some strong reasons to be back to your home country.

I have to agree with iwaiting. One suggestion is let your mother to send all of the medical diagnosis from your dad doctor, and may be a letter from the doctor. While it is never guarantee, they may be more friendly to your situation.

There is no quick fix for your situation, unfortunately.

You can schedule a new interview and bring this new piece of information to the attention of the IO at the consulate. You may consider bringing along a letter from you father's physician with his/her official diagnosis. It may or may not help - it really depends on the IO. As an added suggestion, bring along any and all documentation showing whatever ties you have to Australia, such as your bank statement, proving your salary being deposited on a regular basis, you may also include a letter from your employer stating you are not laid off nor in the prospect thereof and that you must return to work after your trip to the US, bring utility bills, car registration and anything else you can deem worthy. None of these will give you any guarantees and while in the end they may not help you, they will certainly not harm either.

Good luck!

Why was your ESTA denied?

My first thought.

What is your Parents status in the US?

Thank you very much for replying me, Harpa and Boiler. ESTA was denied as i answered YES on the question Have you ever been denied on a US Visa.

Boiler, My mom is US citizen, my dad is US Permanent Resident.

Which begs the question, why were you denied the first time you applied for either a visa or ESTA? What's the underlying reason you are not allowed into the US? What did you do?

What was the first Visa you applied for, you have not said.

Both times were B2, thanks Boiler.

You're still avoiding the question. What was the first thing you applied for? Both is not the answer. You had to apply for one before the other. You didn't apply for both first.

Answer these questions if you want a good answer.

What was the first thing you applied for?

What was the reason for the denial?

Why did you apply for a B2 when normally you could have used a B2.

There is probably nothing you can do apart from apply for a B2 again.

Judging by your posts I take it that you moved to Aus and obtained Citizenship. And your parents moved to the US, how and what is there current status, Permanent Residents, Citizens?
