My dad just had his B2 visa interview an hour ago and at the interview they told him that his visa has been approved and he should get a SMS alert in couple of days to let him know when he can pick up his passport. So it was a good news, but then I went to CEACStatTracker website and when I put his information it shows that his case is in Administrative Processing. Does it mean they need to go through the paper works again or is it just that I am checking the VISA status a bit too early since it was only an hour ago that he finished his interview.

Thanks for any help.

Update--> I called DOS and they said everything looks good, its only showing as Administrative Processing because consulate takes 24 to 48 hours to print the visa, but visa has been approved.

I was gonna ask the same thing. I had my interview on the 29th and I was told that my visa was approved. But then when I checked it on their visa status tracker it also said administrative processing so I'm still on edge about it. I checked yesterday and today and it's still on AP

I hope you have called DOS by now and cleared up the situation. My dad's interview was on Thursday and on Monday it started showing as Visa Issued, he was able to pick up his passport on Tuesday.

Dear All,

Thanks for sharing in your experiences. I applied for blanket L1A from South Korea on 3rd April, 2013. Consular Officer (was very kind) approved the I129s. So we were quite shocked when we came back home and saw "Administrative processing" for me and my family. By following day morning (about 10am), the status changed to "Issued" and we got the passports the day after.

My guess is that depending on the applying consulate, each application spends 24-48 hours in "administrative processing". This is NORMAL and not related in any way to 221g related delays. Unless you have been informed otherwise during interview and/or been handed a 221g form, dont get worried to see "Administrative Processing" on CEAC tracking site, at least not during the 2 following working days. If it doesnt change after that, contact the embassy.

All the best,

Rwik

Hi Every One !

I was interviewed on 29th January 2013 in US Embassy Islamabad. Visa Officer took my passport and put into proceedings. On the site of CEAC my case was “PENDING” till one month. Later on it was updated as "NO STATUS". I sent 2 web based E-mails. In reply they said it is in Administrative Processing. Its 6th month is continued and no change happening in my case status.

Please guide me, is it normal duration or it is a matter of concern now ???????? I am bit depressed and worried now.

Please share your knowledge…………………………….
