We are having a problem getting her passport to be able to leave the country and enter the USA . This whole adventure has become a huge disaster . She was mugged at knife point and they stole what id's and money she had . Not sure they would have accepted the ones anyway . Since then she has a Phil health ID and a SSS ID which has a delivery time of min 6 mos . This has become the problem since our interview will be around that time of that ID's issue . Will a Student drivers licence be acceptable ? How about a GSIS ID ? From what i read it looks to be for worker of the goverment ?

Plus lets say this becomes which I hope it does not a problem when her interview is issued . What would happen a denial until she has a passport ? Just wondering what kind of problems to look out for . Hopefully the SSS ID will not take that long as stated , but i want us to be prepared . I was hoping to be able to have everything we need for when she has her interview . The people at the passport in the Philippines seem to be giving her many problems . Something i heard and read about that place .

Thanks for any help..

Maybe you should post this in the regional forum, it will probably be easier to get a correct answer from other VJ members fom the Philippines.

But with that said, your post is a little confusing, she got mugged and now she has no id to apply for a passport...is that correct?

the id's she had she thought were good enough.. as it turns out she would have had to come back anyway with the correct id's . Just saying what a disaster it was turning out to be being mugged and all ..

Why would they tell her 2 when its 1 of the following ? She has the Phil health ID , so that should be enough then ? Does this happen a lot when applying ? The place is in Tacloban if that helps.

I think the problem was that she did not have the ID's and they told her what she needed . Perhaps she did not understand them correctly . However since this last visit she has the required ID and documents . Thanks for the help everyone . It hard not being there to help with everything . Very please with this site as it has been a great help with matters such as this . Thanks everyone ..

The list says one of the following. Then, there is a separate list of "supportive documents" which are essentially secondary forms of IDs. My fiancee just brought all that she had or could acquire from the list and applied with no problems. Sorry for your fiancee's misfortune. Thank GOD she wasn't hurt.

The DFA will require for her NSO birth certificate, and one valid digitised I.D. And if her birth certificate is late registered the DFA will required for supporting documents like her baptismal and form 137 with dry seal. They don't accept postal I.D. ONLY DIGITISED I.D that government issued are acceptable like SSS I.D, If she's non-government employed she can't get that GSIS ID. Student driver's licence is not acceptable only non-pro & professional driver's licence are accepted. She must have VOTER'S certificate too. The SSS ID will take 6 to one year before she can have it, but if she have an E-1 form already it is accepted as supporting documents too.that,s all she need :)

Authenticated birth certificate, SSS or GSIS ID, NBI, school record can be used in getting a passport. Act right away before its too late. Its not good to undergo an interview without a passport. If you have that documents you can get a passport with in a week no matter if you will pay more as long as you can have it before the interview.
