Never Been treated So Poorly

Oh I understand... but Ive been told to expect the notice is what Im trying to tell everyone. I was told to call back if I had not received it by the 23rd.

I just wonder if its like the others who have heard they were going to interview the petitioner (as was customary before the recent workload shift), but they never had to interview because it was just old information.

You know? The ISO/CSR saying "expect a notice" not quite meaning "it is on its way". More like "Im pretty sure youll get a letter in the mail."

Was it an ISO or a CSR that you spoke to? There are probably limits to what they can do for you and what you want. I dont think it means shes treating you poorly, just that our govt is a giant, inefficient beast. I mean it takes 6-8 weeks in California just to receive your Drivers License! US Govt = Molasses in January.

WOW.....UCSIS process thousands of cases each year, to expect them to have an office of persons who do nothing but send out letters daily or input data daily into a computer about each and every pending case is a little unrealistic. The majority of the processing time is actually your file sitting in a stack somewhere waiting for it's turn to be reviewed. The file having been sent to a local office should be heartening since it means someone is looking at it or at least close to looking at it.

You can't just go in demanding an interview, you have to wait like everyone else. And just because you were told you would have an interview, well the people on the phones are known to make mistakes. Just sit back, take a deep breath, and find something to occupy your time. This process is long and hard without adding more stress to it. Things will happen when the US government is ready for them to happen.

It being sent to the field office means nothing of the sort.

Every stand-alone I-130 since 15 Aug have been pulled from the service centres to get processed at either NBC or a Field Office.

They can’t give us any inkling as to when our files will be processed. Some people are getting theirs in under 2 months. My hubby was told by an ISO it could be 8 months - at the Field Office.

The Field Office is not even being held to the 60 days to respond to evidence from a NOID.

It is not a sense of entitlement to want your loved ones near you in an efficient and transparent manner.

The vast majority of I-130/CR-1 applicants are law abiding citizens and so are their spouses. They are people undergoing a really stressful time in their lives and they do have a right to know what USCIS is doing, when they can expect an answer, and where their case is and what is happening with it.

They deserve to be given truthful and accurate information when they request it as well.

Thanks Nola...I start to feel like Im talking to myself. I'm really just not going to respond any further cause someone is always just going to have an argumentative response. I am justified in the way I feel and what I expect and thats that. It was an ISO who misinformed me many times but Im the one who feels entitled. Ok by all means.

I really dont understand what you feel you were misinformed about, or what part of the process youre not understanding.

You feel you are entitled to an interview notice and you are very upset that you do not have one. Correct so far?

The fact is you are not entitled to an interview notice yet as the computer has not yet generated your interview. They are not holding back your notice. They are not purposely delaying giving you your notice. Its not lost in the mail, theyre not just sitting around twiddling their thumbs while you and your loved ones wither away in agony. There are no slots available to fit you in. No slots= No interview date = no notice yet.

Therefore your initial post of and Im paraphrasing "I cant believe I am be treated so badly. I have not received my interview information in the mail, when I called she said the letter I shouldve received said'said there was still no interview date available and Im in line to recieve one.' ...How dare she! I want a copy of that letter, she said they mailed me one but I didnt get it and she said she cant mail me another one for 90 days as is their policy. Im outraged. Im going to infopass and demanding an interview and/or the notice I didnt get'

Understanding how the process works and the things youre entitled to vs the things you want will save you a lot of stress.

Infopass cant put you into a booked system. When the computer finds you a slot, youll be booked for your interview.

Infopass cant reprint the notice you didnt get (as far as I know) and the phone rep cant generate you a copy of the notice you didnt get for 90 days (not sure why you would need it but thats how it is).

Infopass cant give you an instant appt just cause youre there with all your papers ready to be interviewed.

So yes, you are entitled to your interview and you are entitled to the notice they sent you explaining there were no slots yet and youll be scheduled asap. I dont know why you didnt get it. They said they sent it. So according to them, you were notified. I dont see how thats them treating you 'badly'. They notified you. You failed to receive it. You need to figure out what the problem on your end was and rectify it.

I did not say I was prone to worry and obsess... I said I suffer (and have been diagnosed) with a very real disorder called Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I am not worried that some fanciful thing is happening to my case. I'm worried about the very real possibility I am going to find myself in the same boat as many others on this site whi started the same path I did during this mess.

'So what exactly do you think should be happening now?'

I think I should be getting paperwork I have every legal right to and that I should be scheduled for an interview that is downright pointless if you ask me. I also think that I should very much be able to check processing times for my case and even that luxury I'm not afforded cause they can't keep their website current. I think I should have a GENERAL idea of when my case will be approved so I can plan mine and my familys lives.

I was trying to say it nicely. I know what OCD is and my words are typical parts of cognitive behavioral therapy, though abridged, so I thought they'd mean something to you.

I personally do not think you are getting an interview. As I explained, getting transferred to local office used to mean that, but with the redistribution, it doesn't any more. I think that whoever told you that hadn't realized the change had happened yet. I know they told you to call back, but that is not in your file.

The phone is frustrating, and I am trying to tell you, that spending time on the USCIS hotline is a waste of time. I know that that sucks, but getting better workers there means more processing fees. This system does work, and the people that really matter and make decisions are smart and informed. you just don't get to talk to them.

Go to your INFOPASS and in the meantime relax. I bet you they will say your case is waiting to be adjudicated in their office. Nothing should be happening now, you should just be waiting for approval.

What paperwork do you have "every legal right to?" What do you think they have?

Thats fine you can remove posts but noone would say anything about people being attacking. Dont expect someone not to defend themselves.

Id appreciate if this topic was closed considering there are plenty of people that have nothing better to do then attack others and have no real interest in reading a whole topic. Rather they pick and choose what they want to form an opinion about without seeing the whole picture. So yes please remove this whole topic cause its not helpful in the slightest to me.
