Im starting to feel like a second class citizen with the way these people at USCIS treat me. I was told to call back today if I had not received my interview information in the mail. Well of course I have not received it so she read it to me and said there was still no interview date available and Im in line to recieve one. So I asked her if I could have the documentation sent out to me again since I still have yet to be in receipt of it and she said no that she had read it to me. She said her system would not generate another one for 90 days. That I should talk to my mail carrier. I mean really? I cant have my documentation of what the heck you guys are doing to my case? Just a little background Im US Citizen filing for my Canadian husband. We were transferred like many to NBC but apparently were pegged for an interview (Have yet to receive any notice about this) and sent to our local field office (Orlando). I'm watching people all around September getting approved. I just don't get it. And this lady literally kept saying I dont know and sounded like she was speaking to me from a restroom. I have an Infopass appointment on the 29th. i plan on bringing my whole i-130 packet as well as even more proof of the bonafides of my marriage in case theres any doubt that my TEN YR relationship is not a fly by night. So much for wanting to do things the right way and wanting to be productive citizens. I am so frustrated at this point. I don't even know what to ask them at this infopass appointment. I mean should I say hey can we do this interview thing now? Can you give me some kind of timeframe? Since I can't even check it on the processing times on USCIS website >.<! Gah! :crying:

Hubby and his family are getting thoroughly disgusted with USCIS as well.

The right hand doesn’t seem to know what the left hand is doing. They aren’t all using the updated manuals. So much misinformation when you call them.

I hope your InfoPass appointment goes better than both of hubby’s!

Good luck!

I am so sorry, you know we've had our battles with USCIS and some of the misinformation we've gotten from them. I often get the feeling that when I call that 1. The CSRs have no idea what they are talking about and 2. the ISOs would rather not be bothered.

Today's experience with the ISO was better than normal, but I can't but help thinking if I or someone I know had a job and we spoke to people that way that we would certainly be fired.

I don't know what you should ask, but I'd try to get the interview out of the way.

They are definitely giving false reassurance, by letting us expect of approval last Dec 10,2012... I dont know if this is normal with them but all I want to say is this is full of #######! I have been in a call center for UK but I never treated my callers like what the USCIS are treating us!

The CSRs should have more power to give people information so that the ISOs aren't always so busy taking phone calls to give people information. Really an ISO should be handling things that are severe like Nola's address change or information that's on an RFE or Interview letter if it's required. The CSRs should be able to say where a case is and when it was sent or received to said place. Heck they can't tell you anymore than you can find out online, so when cases aren't showing up online they're hooped! /faceplam. What a mess. Hopefully they get this new manual of their off the ground ASAP and start using it everywhere. The sooner the better!

What was the reason for the expedite? You only filed a few months ago. I say 'only' because for some that isn't a long period of time.

I know you are frustrated, as I have been by this process. But I assure you, there is a beautiful end to it

I filed because while I have only been waiting a few months (less then some) the expectation is far longer then it should be keeping up with processing times. it is going to go outside the normal processing time for sure. We weren't expecting the wait ahead of us considering when we filed everything was going pretty breezy. We are just facing some situations because of this that we wanted to be taken into consideration. My husbands home was placed for sale since he cant sign another years lease so we are just ticking by the moments until its sold and he has to either stay in a hotel, come down here and not work, or convince someone to let him rent without signing a lease. Not to mention I have severe anxiety and OCD and this is not conducive to me not having attacks regularly.

The reason is DACA. Did you look at the Expedite acceptable reasons?

Okay, what are you wanting to happen? What do you think is being sent to you? Because of DACA, many files are being transferred to the local office to be adjudicated. The USCIS goal is 5 months on I-130 petitions, I believe, so to expect it sooner will only lead to disappointment.

It looks to me like your file is at your local office to be adjudicated. Why do you think you are having an interview exactly? It used to be that if files were sent to the local office it meant interview, but with these new procedures it doesn't necessarily mean that any more.

The system is very paper-based and the people you call don't know anything. That is frustrating, for sure. But rest assured your case is moving along as it should, and once it is over you will be able to relax and you will forget this time.

You say you are prone to worry and obsess, and there is nothing you can do to change this process. You just wait patiently and it works. Any fear that you have that your file is in trouble is all in your head. It's not real. Everything is fine.

So what exactly do you think should be happening now?

This just happened to a friend of mine.

They told her that her petition had been sent to her local USCIS office and to be ready for an interview. About a month later she was approved. I think since August, when these files have been getting sent to local USCIS offices to get adjudicated, people are getting so worked up about misinformation they are getting.

You are still in normal processing time. My friend waited 7 months and then got approved, again no interview. If you do not have a previous issue with immigration and you were not expecting an I-130 interview from the jump, you most likely will not have an I-130 interview. Those are usually reserved for those with past immigration issues.

She never got a notice for an interview, either, because even though they told her she was gearing up for an interview, she never even was. They said they sent her a letter, she never got it. She asked them to send her another, they wouldn't. Because there was NO letter to begin with!

Be patient (better said than done! Lol I know this) and wait a few more months. You will get your approval!

'Did you get a touch on your case at all after filing the expedite?'

No my last 'touch' was in October

'The reason is DACA. Did you look at the Expedite acceptable reasons?'

Yes I did and I discussed them with the ISO that submitted the expedite for me.

'Okay, what are you wanting to happen? What do you think is being sent to you? Because of DACA, many files are being transferred to the local office to be adjudicated. The USCIS goal is 5 months on I-130 petitions, I believe, so to expect it sooner will only lead to disappointment.'

Im wanting to be informed of things they are doing to my case. I was TOLD I was pegged for an interview and would be receiving something in the mail. (Has not come in the mail and is past the time they told me it would be here) And yes I know five months and people in my same situation are waiting upwards of that. I expected five months...not the wait that is in my foreseeable future.

'It looks to me like your file is at your local office to be adjudicated. Why do you think you are having an interview exactly? It used to be that if files were sent to the local office it meant interview, but with these new procedures it doesn't necessarily mean that any more.'

I expect an interview cause I was told by an ISO I was pegged for one.

'The system is very paper-based and the people you call don't know anything. That is frustrating, for sure. But rest assured your case is moving along as it should, and once it is over you will be able to relax and you will forget this time.'

If I had not seen so many mess ups during this process I would be apt to believe you. However, I am not confident in the system as it stands.

'You say you are prone to worry and obsess, and there is nothing you can do to change this process. You just wait patiently and it works. Any fear that you have that your file is in trouble is all in your head. It's not real. Everything is fine.'

I did not say I was prone to worry and obsess... I said I suffer (and have been diagnosed) with a very real disorder called Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I am not worried that some fanciful thing is happening to my case. I'm worried about the very real possibility I am going to find myself in the same boat as many others on this site whi started the same path I did during this mess. I also believe there is plenty you can do to change the process if you only open your mouth about things. I pay my taxes and I am not going to sit back and be treated like I don't matter. I'm not letting anyone USCIS or otherwise take advantage of the power they have simply because they may be the only ones who handle certain things. Change is happening, change needs to happen. That is most definitely not in my head.

'So what exactly do you think should be happening now?'

I think I should be getting paperwork I have every legal right to and that I should be scheduled for an interview that is downright pointless if you ask me. I also think that I should very much be able to check processing times for my case and even that luxury I'm not afforded cause they can't keep their website current. I think I should have a GENERAL idea of when my case will be approved so I can plan mine and my familys lives.
