I was Combat Arms, if that is what you were trying to say. (No women)

well then you would know that combat arms is a specialty..

question smoke, ric flair..

why do you think a woman is not capable of deciding for herself if she wants to serve in combat?

if women are asking for the opportunity to fight/die for their country - who the hell are you to decide she's misinformed in her desire and or ability?

if women (as a class of people) were all simply unable to do the job and if allowing them to do it would actually endanger the rest of us, i'd say it doesn't matter how much women wanted to do it... it's all our business to make sure they can't.

however, given the history of women serving in combat for other militaries around the world, we know that is not the case.

so all we're left with is an emotional desire to not be subjected to news of a female pow being gang raped.

Fact is Men and Women are different. In a text book it is all grins and snuggles. We are equal. In the real world it does not work.

riddle me this. If all things are equal, why is the performance standard for men and women different in all branches for the physical fitness test.

Any of you ever humped a 70lb ruck up and down Yankee rd at teh Ft Benning school for boys.? Anybody else on this board ever held a combat arms specialty ranking ?

And your actual experience with all of this is ????

Don't hold your breath... I once heard woman moan and complain for 30 mins about how unfair the work environment was for females. Then 10 mins later complain her male co workers did not hold the door for her.

Am i experienced with all this yes, im Active duty in the Navy 2 yrs in. I have friends girls that have been through training to go on deployment to Afghanistan both men and woman are trained the same way and same standards.

In the civilian world u can complaint and fus and stomp ur feet and quit not in the service u know u have to complete ur full years signed in ur contract. Both man and women get away with more things working as a civilian than being active service.

If u need a lil background in the service we have the Equal Opportunity Act which means all sailors should be treated equally.

&& the prt standards for men and female yes they are different but just because female have a minimum lower than men doesnt mean women are weak (think about how we get pregnant and carry a baby for 9 months something a guy will never experience nor the body change or giving birth) if females want to perform at their minimum well some do it others give it their 110% and go on and beyond their minimum requirement. Not all women are girly or stay @ home mom material, some of us get down and dirty like any other guy.

How a female is going to have a combat arm specialty ranking if we not even allowed yet to go on combat. But how many women have their rifle, 9mm && 12 gauge specialty mark? A whole lot of them is not impossible. Stop being so close minded and open ur eyes to the fact that this is 2013 women have the rights to vote already for couple years now ;)

When women serve on the front line there is obviously a risk they will be captured. They are then likely to be raped. When this happens the country is outraged and insist that something is done to save this poor little girly from her evil captors. A rescue squad is sent in to save her and 5 of them are killed getting her back. It's happened before.

I don't think women should be sent into combat for that reason.

when it comes down to combat there are some people who would most definitely be an asset to have on your side and some who would do everyone a favor by just staying home. if that person is male or female doesn't matter in the slightest.

some of the biggest p*ssies i've ever met have been men and i could tell that without them getting anywhere near even so much as a civil war reenactment.

It's not about shooting. It's not about getting captured.

It's about living in a muddy sh!thole for months on end. Can women do it? Sure. There are plenty of women out there capable of doing so. Some would even be good at it. But the dynamics of a unit change when women are added. In today's "we're all equal" military that means adding separate facilities and accommodating a lesser standard of function for some. In combat, that's just not practical nor is it desirable.

Why we'd purposefully degrade our combat effectiveness is beyond me. I guess that's what it takes to make everyone feel special.

Both sides give up a little privacy, but, hey, we are all adults here, right? Suck it up, sweetie pie! And, it was a lot more fun getting lost in the woods with a couple young female cadets on the night navigation course, than it ever was in any of the other all male service schools I attended.
