Cuomo will have fierce opposition from the left in a Democratic primary. In a crowded field, it would be him and Hillary fighting for the same space. No question who wins that.

Now were Hillary to do the honorable thing and bow out of the running, a guy could Cuomo might have a shot. Although if we want a center-left Governor, I prefer Deval Patrick.

Deval Patrick has just suggested a whole package of tax raises here in Taxachusetts. You name it he wants to tax it. I like the guy and think he'd make a good president but I'm sure the GOP would have fun ripping his tax policies apart.

I have a feeling that by early 2015, the GOP will want a candidate, and candidate, who can win, regardless of where they stand in the political spectrum. And if you want someone who can work across the aisle, just look at Christie's Democrat voter approval rating in New Jersey. That and the fact he beats Hillary in the polls at the moment.

As we have seen with the Democrat s post-Carter, pragmatism often wins out versus dogma when political parties lose often enough. Plus, the debates won't be much fun without him.
