I'm just going to be boring and literally sum up what everybody posted here in one sentence:

EAD takes from about 1 month to 3 months depending on how overwhelmed the local office is.

Ps: don't hire a lawyer or attorney for this whole process unless you have mud on your face...most of us did it on our own and we got approved on the spot with no RFEs...there's boatloads of info here, so it would be a waste of money for a lawyer...unless you have some serious issues on your, or your spouse's side...

Don't worry. I'm sure you'll be fine. :) Good luck, and relax! :) Don't think about it too much as that will drive you crazy. Pretend you have not filed for anything, live your life as if every day is just an ordinary day and that you have absolutely nothing in "process". That's what I did. I did not even realize how fast the time was flying by, and did not even feel that I was in any sort of process...only the occasional mails for biometrics appointment, or stuff like these reminded me that I'm actually in a process of adjusting my status. But during the day time I was busy doing my stuff, and never for a second did I wonder what is going on with my stuff. I knew that would drive me crazy. You mailed it in and did your best, the rest is in USCIS control. You just relax! :) Good luck!

EAD takes from about 1 month to 3 months depending on how overwhelmed the local office is.

Local offices have no involvement in adjudicating EADs and haven't in some time; that is done at the NBC.
