Hi everyone!

We have a pretty silly question. My husband was married before for a year and got divorced in 1987 (so long ago!) and he does not have any of his divorce documents any more and does not contact his ex-wife.

Do we really need to find that divorce documents for our i130 package?

Thanks a lot!

Yes.

You certainly need it and will be RFE'd for it if you don't provide it initially.

Yes you need it. The court house or civil registry where the divorce happened should be able to get him a certified copy.

Thank you, everyone!

Do you know if it's possible to get it by mail? We live in California but the divorce happened in Ohio so it's not easy for us to go there.

Google the contact information of the civil registry in Ohio where the divorce took place and inquire with them if it's possible to get the copies via mail.
