A little help with AOS

My wife and i are trying to complete the AOS forms but we are not sure about some of the questions on form I-485 and G-325. We need some advice.

I-485

1)is the SS# required for the form? any penalties if we haven't get it?

2)What is the "Nonimmigrant Visa Number? is the one that starts with "A"?

G-325:

1) what is the "file number"?

2) what is the "Alien Registration Number"?

We are about to file our AOS here pretty soon as for some of your questions I do not have SS# yet because we are planning to file it after the wedding so i dont have to reapply again for name change the Visa number is the one printed in red in the visa and the A number is found on the I-94 which is the departure/arrival card. Hope that helps

SSN is not required but I recomend you apply while your I-94 is still valid or you will have to wait until your green card arrives. No penalities for not having a SSN.

Nonimmigrant Visa number is the number on the visa used to enter the USA.

The "A" number is your alien registration number. If you came in on a K-1 visa it is on your USCIS NOA2 letter.
